Overview /Objective
The NFL is currently seeking an Associate to join our Player Social Marketing team to oversee the day-to-day operations of the program and help lead player-lead social activations. This individual will help oversee a team of 3 coordinators and will drive the Player Social marketing strategy efforts – including its gameday content sharing program, helmet-off storytelling, marketing initiative support, and tentpole strategy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the National Football League, athlete marketing, and social media. This individual will play a key role in managing internal and external stakeholders and will be tasked with identifying innovative ways to tell player-driven stories, engage key audiences and drive business objectives. The day-to-day responsibilities of this position will require best-in-class creative and analytical skills along with the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, non-stop environment.
This is a long term contract opportunity with the NFL.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and oversee a team of 3 coordinators (across NY and LA) and their day-to-day responsibilities.
- Oversee Player Social initiative to support all active NFL players in their social media needs – including weekly tune-in highlight program, helmet-off storytelling, event coverage support, player participation in League initiatives, original content series, and more
- Service and collaborate with NFL agents and player marketing reps to support any and all social media requests and maximize opportunity League partnership
- Strategically use social insights and analytics to guide content development and drive the NFL’s brand forward with existing and emerging audience
- Lead content opportunities for players around key marketing priorities including International, Flag, Cause Initiatives (MCMC, Salute to Service, WPMOY, Crucial Catch), and more.
- Lead player activations at tentpole events (Combine, Draft, International Games, Pro Bowl Games, Super Bowl) from conception to execution
- Collaborate and work cross-functionally with internal and external teams, including brand marketing, consumer products, communications, events, and creative agencies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5 years of experience in social media, marketing or content editorial experience, preferably in sports or entertainment industry
- At least 3 years working with professional athletes or in sports marketing
- At least 2 years of experience managing a team of 2-4 people
- 2-3 years of experience in social production with the ability to lead a crew and manage post production
- Extensive knowledge of the current landscape of the NFL and its players
Preferred Qualifications
- Optimal to have pre-existing relationships with key NFL players and / or representatives
- Proficient knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, After Effects, and Lightroom
- Strong understanding of content creation, player-lead activations, and event management with a focus on innovative experiences
- Highly proficient in developing compelling strategy and recap decks for internal and external presentations

Terms /Expected Hours Of Work
NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime and weekend requirements.
Salary
$45—$47 USD
