About The Role & Program
The Franchise Content & Strategy team oversees the overall content & narrative creative strategy across the Franchise platforms, as well as the associated development and management of story & continuity across animation, games, publishing, consumer products, online, and interactive experiences, developing transmedia narratives as well. The group also liaises with the live-action development team to stay on top of what other stories are in the works, and helps collate and translate the information for broader consumption across the Franchise teams, which also extends to Marketing & PR.
This internship is a great introduction to the world of story development and franchise management, and interns will have an invaluable opportunity to interact with execs in our department on future and active projects across various media
The approximate dates of this in-person internship are June 2025-August 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
What You Will Do
We are seeking motivated, diligent, and trustworthy interns for this unique position! Your responsibilities would include diving deep into other Franchises and how they are currently generating more content and crafting the associated case-studies.. Projects could include, but not be limited to:
- Staying current with in-market Franchise talent across Animation, Publishing, Video Games, VR, and beyond
- Tracking interesting talent and writing up descriptions
- Helping members of our Continuity quartet track data from scripts, manuscripts, outlines, game design documents, and more
Required Qualifications And Skills
Please apply if you have:
- Strong researching skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely share your findings
- The ability to uphold a professional level of secrecy given the sensitivity of many projects the team works on
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with trong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities
- Experience displaying strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrated creative sensibility
Preferred Qualifications
It would also be great if you have:
- Interest in content development, transmedia creation, franchise management
- A strong knowledge and appreciation of the Star Wars galaxy, including the films, animated series, games, and books
- Strong writing, fact-checking and proofreading skills
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in film, creative writing, entertainment management, marketing, video game design or related
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- The approximate dates of this internship are early June 2025- August 2025
- Must provide own housing and reliable transportation during the internship in the San Francisco, CA area
The pay rate for this role in California is $22.00 per hour.
