This role is responsible for building and executing a comprehensive community strategy that enhances member loyalty, elevates brand visibility, and deepens cultural connections on a global scale.

This position requires a balance of strategic thinking, creativity, and hands-on community engagement to ensure Discogs remains at the forefront of fostering meaningful interactions within the music and collector communities.

Community Engagement & Strategy Development
- Develop and implement strategies to increase activity within the Discogs Community Forum, encouraging user contributions and facilitating engaging value-driven conversations
- Leverage content, events, and campaigns to drive engagement and encourage user-generated content (UGC), amplifying user stories and fostering a strong sense of community
External and Forum Community Engagement Management
- Engage actively with external communities, including Reddit and other relevant forums, to build awareness, enhance Discogs' presence, and foster meaningful discussions
- Develop and execute strategies to increase participation and activity within the Discogs Community Forum, fostering engaging discussions and encouraging user contributions
- Moderate interactions across forums and external platforms, maintaining alignment with Discogs' brand values and fostering a positive and inclusive environment
- Participate in discussions on relevant external forums such as Reddit, actively building awareness of Discogs and addressing questions or concerns
- Host or coordinate events such as Reddit AMAs or other external initiatives to increase visibility and deepen connections with music collectors
Insights & Data Analysis
- Analyze and report on community engagement metrics, using data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Conduct sentiment analysis and feedback collection, utilizing these insights to influence content strategies, product improvements, and platform features
- Use insights to create actionable recommendations for content strategies, community tools, and feature enhancements
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to align community insights with broader marketing, product, and business goals
- Advocate for the community's needs by ensuring member feedback is shared with product, content, and support teams
Requirements
What You'll Contribute
Minimum Education And Experience
- 3+ years in community management, with a successful track record in strategy development, content creation, and driving engagement
- Strong analytical skills and experience with sentiment analysis, social listening, and reporting on community KPIs
- Outstanding communication skills, with a natural ability to engage users authentically and foster long-term relationships
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, campaigns, and events simultaneously
- A deep understanding of Discogs' community and the music industry, with the ability to bring cultural knowledge into all aspects of community engagement
Preferred
- Experience with social listening, sentiment analysis, CRM tools, Reddit analytics, Discourse, Zendesk, or other forum moderation platforms is a plus
- Previous experience in e-commerce, music, or collector-focused platforms is a plus
