Job Description
At Eataly, beverage is equally as important as food! Eataly features a vast selection of premium and unique Italian wines and drinks at all price points. Our guests can even enjoy a glass of wine while shopping!
The Director, Beverage oversees the entire beverage operation for Eataly North America. Reports directly to the VP, Beverage.
- Analyzes and forecasts beverage sales, manages a budget and evaluates the effectiveness of systems
- Creates and maintains systems for financial sustainability, taking a deep and focused approach to inventory management as well as margin and profitability
- Liase with marketing to design and communicate beverage initiatives that meet company standards
- Directs and oversees area beverage manager operations, programming, and inventory management
- Partners with store leadership on strategies related to products, promotions, pricing, inventory and strategy
- Manages product listings including roll-outs of new products and phase-outs of current products
- Establishes vendor relationships and maintains professional rapport with distribution companies and suppliers
- Designs promotions, campaigns and partnerships with local beverage personalities
- Curates wine classes and events with the marketing team to elevate the educational experience
- Collaborates with the Executive Chef Corporate to plan menu items and pairings
- Communicates with all departments to always be aware of product needs and objectives
- Shares knowledge and appreciation for Italian food and beverage with all guests, providing excellent and responsible beverage service
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
The annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $140,000
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8+ years of progressively more responsible experience in Italian wine and beverage
- 4+ years of experience managing in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Excellent analytical and business management skills
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience in wholesale wine and/or retail industries preferred
Job Requirements
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule sometimes including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and spend up to 8 hours walking or standing in a restaurant environment
