One of our consumer goods manufacturing and retail clients is looking for a Retail Marketing Director to join their team for an exciting position bridging the gap between Sales and Marketing.
This Retail Marketing Director will be a key leader reporting directly to the SVP of Global Sales and responsible for planning and executing strategies that drive sales and enhance brand visibility in the retail setting.
The Retail Marketing Director must be comfortable creating and managing marketing campaigns, analyzing market trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop opportunities, brief in clear scopes of work, and able to deliver results.
Ideal Retail Marketing Director candidates will have:
– 7-10 years relevant Retail or Trade Marketing experience, ideally within the major big box retailers such as Target, Walmart, and Best Buy.
– BA Degree in appropriate field of study such as Marketing, Business Administration, or Retail Management
– Must be a strong collaborator with equally strong communication skills to define opportunities, guide creative teams on execution, and hand off final deliverables into the commercial retail Team.
– Must be a self-starting strategic thinker with a drive to win and a sense of urgency to compete in the fast-paced consumer products industry.
– Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence multiple levels of an organization
– Possess problem solving, attention to details, and analytical skills
– Must be a self-starter that shows ownership and commitment to the job
– Fully proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Excel & PowerPoint.
– Comfortable with G-Suite platform
– Action-oriented and flexible mindset to drive impact in a fast-paced, rapidly changing growth environment

Job Responsibilities:
– Drive long term growth by developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and merchandising programs for strategic third-party retailers.
– Develop annual budget to support account initiatives and monitor spending monthly
– Draft retail strategy based on category analysis, retailer insights, and sales objectives to inform Product, Marketing, and Merchandising teams.
– Craft clear and compelling presentations to communicate strategies and plans to internal/external stakeholders including our retail partners, display vendors, and field teams
– Record and report trade marketing activity for wholesale accounts
– Ensure retail activity tracker and store master documents are up to date on monthly basis
– Analyze campaign and in-store performance and report results and key take-aways.
– Adopt a test/learn/refine approach to trialing new activities to better understand shopper behavior and seek opportunities to increase efficiency of marketing investments
– Coordinate omni-channel launches for new products
– Oversee new in-store POP materials and fixtures from authoring of clear actionable briefs to flawless execution and delivery
– Lead development of sell-in materials to internal and external stakeholders
– Develop account-specific merchandising plan in alignment with category strategy and global creative direction
– Drive business with Key Accounts through tailored marketing & merchandising products
– Collaborate with retailers and shopper media teams to develop and execute annual marketing programs in line with the brand and commercial objectives
– Identify and implement new fixture programs to elevate the brand's presence in-store
– Drive out-of-the-box thinking to deliver new and innovative marketing tactics and sell-thru initiatives for the brand and retail partner(s)
– Work closely with analytics team to drive quantification of trade marketing activity to better understand feasibility of future projects as well as performance of completed projects.
