Position Summary: Director of eCommerce & Growth Marketing
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Ecommerce & Growth Marketing to lead direct-to-consumer (DTC) digital commerce strategy. This role is pivotal in driving online sales growth, optimizing the customer journey, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience across all digital touch points. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-commerce, with a proven ability to scale digital platforms, enhance conversion rates, and collaborate across departments to meet revenue goals. In addition to owning the experience online, you will own the strategic planning and execution of digital marketing initiatives that elevate the brand’s presence in the fine jewelry market and accelerate rapid growth for the brand including performance marketing and retention.
Your Impact
Lead and develop the business strategy for their DTC operation, championing the launch of new e-commerce features, paid media campaigns, and retention marketing efforts in order to achieve revenue and contribution targets.
Formulate and execute comprehensive digital growth marketing strategies aligned with business objectives to expand reach and increase brand awareness. Create, collaborate and share 6-12-month view of consumer digital marketing strategies and plans.
Develop briefs and outline objectives for creative and work with our agency partner to execute data-driven paid media campaigns (awareness and lead-generation), optimizing audience segmentation and monitoring performance. Lead the development of compelling marketing content that resonates with target audiences.
Utilize performance marketing expertise to manage the DTC marketing budget across channels (e.g., Paid Search/Google, Paid Social, Display, Email) and deliver improvements in Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) and Lifetime Value (LTV)
Lead efforts in both paid and organic customer acquisition, using advanced targeting, segmentation, and personalization techniques. Oversee SEO strategy and implement organic tactics to drive new customer growth.
Paid Media Campaigns: Develop briefs and outline objectives for creative and work with our agency partner to execute data-driven paid media campaigns (awareness and lead-generation), optimizing audience segmentation and monitoring performance. Lead the development of compelling marketing content that resonates with target audiences.
Develop and implement effective customer retention strategies, including Email, SMS, and Retargeting, to drive lifetime value through upsell and re engagement campaigns to drive repeat purchases.
Oversee customer service and VIP concierge services.
Website Management: Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of the website to ensure the best user experience including SEO and an AI driven experience. Own the consumer journey and outline the future state of the website to drive awareness, consideration, purchase, loyalty and advocacy. Support the transformation of the website to create a more immersive, delightful online. experience that builds a deeper emotional connection with our community, driving greater repeat engagements and ambassadorship.
Partner with Brand Marketing and Creative to deliver best-in-class user experience online with effective brand storytelling and education. Ensure an ongoing cadence of tests to optimize the website user experience and conversion rates.
Utilize data-driven approaches to inform strategies, assess campaign performance, and identify areas for improvement. Report on findings to senior leadership. Plan for and perform tests to inform future strategies.
Oversee the digital merchandising strategy, ensuring products are effectively showcased and promoted. Collaborate with brand marketing and product teams to optimize product listings, content, and promotional strategies.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement amongst the team.
Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the brand remains at the forefront of e-commerce innovation.
Who You Are
9+ years of experience in ecommerce, performance marketing, and retention.
Deep understanding of e-commerce architectures, user interfaces, and back-end processes. Experience with A/B testing, UX optimization, SEO, and other CRO techniques.
Deep knowledge of digital performance marketing on google, meta, pinterest, tiktok and audience segmentation best practices. Ability to measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insights, and assess against goals.
Experience managing and optimizing online marketing tactics and CRM, with an emphasis on efficient spending to generate high ROI
Advanced experience with: Shopify, Google Analytics (GA4), Klaviyo, Attentive and AI driven personalization technologies.
Demonstrated experience in launching new products and categories in an e-commerce environment
Experience in fine jewelry or fashion is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Confident presenting to senior leadership, external partners, and peers
