Job Summary
The Marketing Manager, reporting to the Director, NARS International Marketing & Business Development, oversees NARS International Marketing for Asia (excluding China, Australia, Travel Retail) and acts as Data Analysis lead on International sales reporting. Responsibilities include calendars, launch strategies, media, distribution, pricing, forecasting support and VM planning; liaising with Regional partners to provide strategic direction. The Marketing Manager will be the day-to-day point of contact for the Asia Regions, both Hong Kong and Singapore offices. Through strong partnership and clear communication, the Marketing Manager will help ensure that business priorities are met and that markets have what they need to drive the business with strong 360˚ marketing activations while following global brand guidelines. This position will also ensure monthly visibility on sales performance through regular reporting updates and help to grow business with data driven insights.
What You Will Do
NARS Asia Contact
- Relationship management and day-to-day point person for Asia Regions, both Hong Kong and Singapore offices. With key markets Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and India as a focus;
- Manage agenda for recurrent China/TR / Asia calls, follow up on action points following each call.
Analysis
- Inform product portfolio strategy by consolidating feedback on proposed launches, product discontinuations and sampling programs;
- Update regular reports and distribute for Senior Leadership visibility:
- Monthly Global Retail Sales by market and type of distribution
- Monthly Performance by Market by Franchise (Asia only)
- Monthly Forecasts by launch and key core lines
- Quarterly Beaute Research recaps on market share and competitive dynamics
- Serve as a key point of contact for any data related queries within International team.
- Collect and share regional launch recaps for key competitive launches;
- Perform annual pricing analysis on key categories / across key markets; present pricing proposals summary and support HQ pricing presentations for Director’s and Senior leadership review.
New Launches
- Define and track regional level launch calendars (incl. lightbox calendars) within Asia region; track launch dates by market;
- Track timely delivery and global alignment of Top 5 markets 360 Go-To-Market launch plans;
- Collect feedback on prospective launches, innovation plans and activations for Global Marketing
Creative
- Approve event concepts and liaise with Global Marketing, VM & Creative on major events;
- Inform Global asset creation: connect with Global teams to share Regional feedback to optimize the briefing and creation of assets; communicate on all asset updates and availability;
- Local asset creation: review markets’ proposal with Global stakeholders for concept approval and creative direction on mood and storyboards, talent, wardrobe and styling, photo direction of the assets;
- Manage artwork requests & approvals for Asia-specific projects, campaigns, events and tools.
Media
- Guide and track markets media plans and facilitate media requests in partnership with Integrated Communications team.
Visual Merchandising
- Serve as point of contact for any Asia-specific VM / SD queries;
- Brief market specific / bespoke unit requests, communicate with Global on optimal Asia focus units assortments satisfying all Asia markets;
- Track Regional and markets assortments updates, ensure it is reflected in the seasonal VM;
- Update gondola configurations each season for open sell environments and tester unit displays.

- Maximize pure player business with differentiated plans per account (i.e., Lazada, Naver and Kakao)
- Optimize NARS.com in all key markets (assets, CRM, offers, process, etc.);
- Review and propose feedback on promo tactics / value offers in partnership with Director.
Forecasting
- Develops and publish launch forecast guidelines for product launches and POSM, across all retail channels ensuring that markets have a full toolkit to support the forecasting process and appropriately dimension product launches;
- Timely send formula samples and swatch boards to all markets / regional teams with forecast bulletin.
Other
- Cover markets samples requests for the shoots, trainings and presentations; order products to office;
- Invoices coding and expense tracker update for all Asia related invoices;
- Perform other duties related to NARS Asia business growth as assigned.
Who You Are
- College degree, 4+ years’ experience in marketing or marketing project management, preferably in beauty.
- Experience in working with Asian markets and data analysis preferred.
- Knowledge of and curiosity for competitive marketplace, digital, and in-store environment.
- Time flexibility to participate in morning / evening calls with Asian markets outside of regular EST business hours.
- Experience in working with different cultures - dynamic, flexible, collaborative, with a positive attitude
- Strong analytical mindset paired with creativity.
- Attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, ability to manage cross-functional projects while responding to changing priorities and feedback.
- A passionate, energetic team-oriented individual with strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, utilize sound judgment and come up with solutions.
- Software expertise: superb Excel skills is a must (incl. pivot tables), PowerPoint (tasteful attention to formatting).

The base pay for this position may vary based on geographic location. Actual base pay offered will be based on several factors including job-specific knowledge, education, skills, and depth of experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as components of a total compensation package, including participation in our bonus program which features the ability to overachieve, in addition to a full range of competitive benefits.
