Who We Want
Carson Group is seeking an experienced marketing and corporate communication leader to direct communication strategies and oversee implementation of communication activity aimed at informing and engaging employees, advisors, and key external stakeholders. The position will report to Carson’s chief marketing officer with primary accountability for employee and client communication, product marketing, public/media relations, and enterprise events. This leader will partner closely with our integrated marketing team, advisor acquisition function, and our Talent team to ensure continuous alignment and measurable results.
What To Expect
- Develop and oversee implementation of 12-month rolling editorial calendars for primary internal and external audiences, including employees, advisors, the media, and other key stakeholders
- Partner with B2B acquisition leader on PR and external conference strategies that drive brand awareness and shape positive perception of Carson amongst prospective advisors
- In conjunction with Carson thought leaders, lead development of comprehensive PR strategy aimed at awareness and reputation building for existing and prospective Carson investors
- Collaborate with Creative Director on thematic messaging framework that unifies value prop proof points under cohesive brand narrative
- Work alongside Carson’s project management office and strategy team to translate product and project roadmaps into appropriate communication strategies that keep advisors informed of ongoing enhancements to Carson’s value proposition and drive awareness of tools and best practices to grow their business
- Partner with Carson Talent team to develop and implement internal communication strategies that shape culture, strengthen engagement and performance, and help the organization manage change
- Develop and oversee multi-year conference strategy for Carson advisor community, obtaining leadership alignment on measures of success
- Create appropriate feedback loops and systems of measurement to gage communication effectiveness and make adjustments as needed
- Conduct gaps assessment of current communication vehicles and develop strategy for enhancing vehicles over time
- Provide leadership and career development for team of PR, events, and communication professionals
What You Need
- Demonstrated history of successful communication management within financial services industry
- Approx 15 years communication experience, with at least five years in a leadership role
- Knowledge of the independent financial advisor and RIA space
- Ingrained understanding of the importance of collaborating across teams and systems to deliver sustainable results
- Strategic agility to excel within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strategic problem solver and decision maker, able to quickly identify and assess pertinent data to arrive at the optimal approach
- Strong operator with proven capacity to execute and deliver on commitments
