Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Creative Marketing Manager to join our team. This role requires a unique blend of passions and expertise, coming together in a creative individual with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and a strategic mindset for engaging online and physical audiences. As a guide of the company’s digital and physical brand, you will help play a crucial role in increasing brand awareness, driving sales, and building strong relationships with environmentally conscious consumers.
One of the exciting aspects of this role is the opportunity to collaborate with various teams outside of WasteNot, from working closely with marketing professionals of restaurant groups, understanding campaign objectives of local municipalities or coordinating with operations teams for compelling WasteNot stories, your ability to communicate effectively and align visual content with broader business goals will be essential.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy Development: Collaborate, craft and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the company's goals, target audience, and brand identity. This includes identifying key content pillars, audience segments, and distribution channels.
Content Creation and Management: Create or oversee the creation of engaging, high-quality content across various formats (articles, videos, infographics, podcasts, etc.) that resonates with our target audience. Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice that you will help design.
Editorial Leadership: Serve as the primary editor for all content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to SEO best practices. Develop and maintain an editorial calendar to ensure timely publication of content.
Analytics and Performance: Utilize analytics tools to track content performance and engagement metrics. Use insights to refine content strategy, optimize content for search engines, and increase overall content effectiveness.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations and sales teams to create cohesive and impactful content that supports overall business objectives. Facilitate content brainstorming sessions and encourage a culture of creativity and innovation.
Future Team Management: In the present, As the company grows, we will need the help to recruit and manage a small team who will be able to educate and motivate potential WasteNot members to join our composting and recycling cause!
Requirements & Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3 plus years of experience with a working knowledge of sustainability messaging and trends in content marketing / digital media.
- Customer-obsessed, someone who wants to satisfy and impress our members and partners.
- Curiosity and passion for helping Chicagoland households, businesses and governments advance their sustainability goals.
- Knowledge of the waste management or recycling industry, or the willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in video & graphics based content creation and editing.
- Familiarity with graphic design principles and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Prior experience in building and managing a creative team.
