Role x You
Refinery29 has the unique distinction of being a leading retailer’s strategic cultural and talent partner. This means that for that partner, a dedicated team has been built and is composed of cultural strategists, creatives, talent and influence experts and client service leads. We are further supported by finance, legal and production resources. Our objective is to support our client’s mission to connect meaningfully and authentically with their guests.
This Associate Creative Director will be a dedicated resource in support of this retailer’s needs. They will directly report into a Creative Director and work alongside other members of the Refinery29 creative team. When able, the Associate Creative Director will also support other creative partnership needs of Refinery29.
The right fit for this creative role is a conceptual thinker and a collaborative team player. We seek an excellent storyteller, writer and presenter who has experience building brand creative as well as co-branded creative for brands and publishers. Experience art directing and shaping the construction of creative materials is also important.
Success in this role will come down to your ability to connect strategic insights about culture at large and translate that into meaningful creative that will deepen consideration, affinity and relevance for this retailer.
This position can be based either in New York City, Los Angeles or Minneapolis, MN. It will require a hybrid work schedule. This is a 6-month long contract, at a rate of $2,500 - $3,000 weekly or $63-$75 an hour.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience spanning agency, digital media, or client experience focused on branded campaigns
- A strong portfolio or reel of work
- Strong presentation and copywriting skills
- Experience in art direction of creative materials to ensure they vibrantly and accurately represent your work
- On-set production experience
- Ability to take client briefs and translate them into a winning creative proposal
- Knowledge and interest in the evolving digital media industry and emerging trends in culture
- Awareness of influencer talent - and specifically those who are making an impact on culture
- Experience in marketing to diverse audiences and those with niche interests is a plus
