The
Sr. Director, Experiential Marketing and Engagement will be a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive experiential marketing initiatives and engagement strategies. Reporting to Vice President of Marketing, this role will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand's narrative, driving customer engagement, and fostering loyalty through memorable experiences and cultivating stronger external relationships with industry partners and leagues leveraging marketing campaigns and products. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of creative vision, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills to elevate our brand, external presence and deepen our connections with our audience.
What You’ll Be Doing
Experiential Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement a strategic experiential marketing plan aligned with overall brand objectives and marketing goals.
- Conceptualize, plan and execute immersive brand experiences, events, tradeshows and activations that not only resonate with target audience and drive engagement, but that identifies clear KPIs to show attribution, builds lead growth and ROI.
- Execute internal and industry research to develop insight into relevant events to maximize company exposure and client engagement across multiple vertical markets.
- Develop creative ideas for experiences based on marketing strategy, messaging, and program objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, sales, client experience and marketing to integrate experiential marketing initiatives with broader marketing campaigns, public relation initiatives and brand initiatives
- Function as a thought leader with significant knowledge of all aspects on experiential marketing including cutting edge techniques to engage and excite customers.
Relationship and Sponsorship Management
- Develop and implement strategies to align industry relationships with leagues, industry partners and our target audience to deepen customer engagement, identify new opportunities for increased market presence to deepen customer relationships.
- Identify new opportunities to engage customers by leveraging external relationships with leagues and industry partners to add additional channels of engagement to marketing campaign efforts to increase qualified leads and cross-selling opportunities.
- Responsible for the development of a league and partner strategy that aides in the increases of partner engagement levels, identifies new league and partner opportunities and increases qualified leads and revenue for the organization and opens new channels for marketing campaigns.
- Define revenue targets and growth objectives for each partnership, considering sponsorship deals, agreements and other revenue generating opportunities.
- Conduct surveys or assessments to gauge strength of relationships and identify areas of improvement
Event Leadership and Management
- Oversee a team of event planners and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of events and activations, maintaining a high standard of quality and customer experience.
- Oversee all aspects of experiential planning and management including budgets, vendor management, demand driven experiential strategies, vendor management and onsite execution.
- Provide onsite problem resolution to ensure that all aspects of events are executed successfully.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and impact of attendee promotional campaign materials for events.
- Develop event and project plans, spearhead team meetings, and obtain status updates on delegated tasks.
- Negotiate contracts with such service providers and suppliers as hotels, convention centers, and contractors.
- Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of personnel, subcontractors and other suppliers of event services.
- Evaluate events and sponsorship efforts to develop actionable insights designed to continuously improve performance.
Budget Management and Reporting
- Oversee all event planning estimates for project scope, schedule, and resource requirements ensuring programs are properly budgeted, estimated, and scheduled.
- Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate and timely accounting of each event by having a reconciliation of the pertinent budget and company financial reports.
- Track and provide monthly budget reporting.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of RFPs; review vendor proposals and make selections based on budget and objectives.
- Identify new, more efficient ways of executing events and experiences.
- Develop comprehensive reporting detailing the quantity and quality of leads along with return on investments derived from external facing events and partner relationships to enable data-driven decision-making and optimization of experiential marketing strategies and budget that aide in revenue growth.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including marketing, client experience, sales, product and senior leadership, to align all experiential marketing and industry engagement efforts with overall business objectives
- Collaborate with external agencies, vendors, partners, and leagues to leverage expertise and resources for successful activations.
- Serve as brand ambassador and spokesperson for all industry engagement opportunities, internally and externally, driving alignment and cultivating stronger relationships.
Education
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business.
Experience
- 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in experiential marketing, event management, customer engagement, or related roles.
- Experience in marketing, public relations and/or communications.
- Experience with leading a team

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

The starting salary range for this full-time position in Irvine, CA is $128600 - $160800 per year. This base pay will take into consideration internal equity, candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge and experience among other factors. Origence maintains a highly competitive compensation program. Under company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual bonus to provide an incentive to achieve targeted goals. Bonuses are awarded at company’s discretion on an individual basis.
