Title: Director, Marketing, Big Loud Rock
Location: In our Beautiful Santa Monica, CA Office (Candidates must live in the LA metro area)
Schedule: M-TH in the office; work-from-home Fridays
As the Director, Marketing for Big Loud Rock, you’ll the manage the planning, direction, execution and monitoring of marketing campaigns for our growing roster of rock artists. As the Director, you’ll plan, direct, organize, execute and control artist campaigns, defining the positioning of the artist and developing the artist’s story. In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive communication and coordination internally and externally to keep projects moving forward while maintaining the overall artist message and brand.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and execute full marketing plans and campaigns for single and album launches
- Coordinate all facets of the label group to maintain focus and progress in relation to specific artist’s projects
- Partner with artists, managers, and marketing team to create, maintain, and evolve artist brands
- Build knowledge of each artist and their management team’s processes, goals, and overall efforts in to maintain a cohesive and effective working relationship
- Generate timelines and budgets of project needs and key dates/deadlines with all departments and oversee the timely delivery of those needs
- Create and coordinate special events in conjunction with album releases, specific tour dates, and other special events
- Serve as key liaison for artist management and label
- Brainstorm and produce big marketing ideas, identify the best idea options, and execute
- Design and oversee advertising campaigns
- Manage quarterly budgets
- Communicate the status of artists projects routinely with label staff and leadership
- Provide direction to and manage junior staff
- Other responsibilities as required
What you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of marketing and/or product management experience at a record label
- Music industry experience with an emphasis in marketing
- Organize, prioritize, and execute a wide range of tasks with heavy workloads and tight deadlines
- A general knowledge of all departments within a label, including: Digital, Publicity, A&R, creative, production and promotion
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Creativity and willingness to think outside the box
