Salary Range: $150,000 to $200,000 depending on experience/qualifications plus bonus and benefits

CureDuchenne is a nonprofit organization and is known as a leader in funding medical research, driving improved care and uniting the Duchenne muscular dystrophy community. Duchenne is a progressive rare genetic disease affecting children and young adults. In addition to our Venture philanthropy approach to funding treatments and cures aimed at improving and extending the lives of all individuals living with Duchenne, CureDuchenne is a comprehensive advocacy organization addressing the needs of affected families and the research and medical teams serving this community. CureDuchenne has and will continue to be a catalyst for positive change leading to a cure. Our brand language and approach is positive and solution oriented. We have experienced a wonderful period of growth as the direct result of increasing our innovative programs and specifically targeting the needs of the patients we serve. CureDuchenne successfully raises funds through significant special events, including the Napa Wine Series and the Getzlaf Golf Shootout. Additionally, we work with Duchenne families on smaller family driven fundraisers and Champion events. We are a recipient of a number of 3rd party fundraisers in which we actively participate. We have a large family conference that is supported by industry partners.

As VP for Corporate Sponsorships and Events, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership team aligned in growing our organizational impact on behalf of the individuals we serve.
Job Description
The VP for Corporate Sponsorships and Events is a key member and leader within CureDuchenne’s Development Team and plays a pivotal role in securing corporate sponsorships, raising funds, and supporting fundraising initiatives.
VP for Corporate Sponsorships and Events is responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive sponsorship and fundraising program in support of CureDuchenne’s event and development efforts. The VP for Sponsorships and events has ownership of CureDuchenne’s event success and sponsorship development. This role will also lead the strategy, ideation and execution of regional cultivation and stewardship events, including but not limited to, the development of strategic working relationships with existing donors and prospects for the purpose of retention and revenue growth.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Create and execute strategies to achieve organizational financial goals through event, sponsor and donor revenue.
- Procure sponsorships from luxury brands; finance, auto, jewelry, healthcare, travel, etc. and other brands to support our events and programs
- Lead and mentor event management team and maximize consultant value and 3rd party management.
- Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to develop and advance the goals of the organization and cross-departmental collaboration effectiveness.
- Create and manage department and event budgets.
- Collaborate with other departments as necessary and appropriate to execute the mission of the organization.
- Responsible for developing a strategy and directly pursuing corporate sponsorships, in-kind sponsorships. media sponsorships, and corporate/employee giving.
- Responsible for developing the strategy and overseeing the execution of CureDuchenne’s fundraising events and has primary responsibility for overarching strategy and net event revenue that reflects year over year growth
- Work with the broader Development Team and Leadership to determine and execute event financial goals and metrics related to pre-determined budgets, sponsors, attendees, tables, etc., and other event objectives.
- Recruit qualified attendees for events to maximize revenue potential and donor development.
- Responsible for identifying potential sponsorship opportunities and then contacting and cultivating the opportunity into a sponsorship to support various events. This will require business development/sales skills and experience, resulting in quantifiable outcomes.
- Deliver a white glove experience to donors, sponsors, families, and prospects that objectively outshines competitors’ event experiences, ensuring CureDuchenne events are the preferred destination for our target audiences
- Oversee production and management of FUTURES family conference, including sponsorships and budget.
- Partner with Leadership and the Development Team to develop and strategically steward the donor experience, including building and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and supporters.
- Build organizational capacity and track projects, contacts and communications in Monday.com and Salesforce to ensure successful and timely execution of all associated deliverables
- Partner with the Marketing and Communications Team on PR, social, marketing and content development and execution. In conjunction w/demand generation, build and implement strategies that meaningfully engage audiences before, during, and after events.
- Work with Development Operations to develop and execute an event prospecting strategy to increase revenue, attendance, and prospective cultivation event attendees.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field
- 10+ years experience developing and executing large-scale events, ideally in-house for non-profit organizations
- Successful track record of securing sponsorships from major luxury brand categories; financial, auto, travel, healthcare, real estate, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing field marketing strategies that directly contribute to sales pipeline and revenue growth
- Strong understanding of donor development processes and ability to align event strategies with sales objectives
- Proven track record of creating memorable, on-brand event experiences that drive business results
- Exceptional project management skills with ability to manage complex budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams
- Strong leadership and team management skills; experience building and leading high-performing event teams
- Experience with project management platform Monday.com, Excel, Salesforce, and Givesmart platforms strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with and leading senior executives and external stakeholders
- Proven track record of successfully implemented six and seven figure requests for support.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience developing and executing large conferences a plus
