Athletes Unlimited is looking for a Director of Brand Communications to execute key elements of the Athletes Unlimited communications strategy in an effort to elevate and position the AU brand, its properties and athletes. This position is full-time and reports to the Chief Growth Officer.
Responsibilities
- Foster and maintain relationships with key members of culture, lifestyle and entertainment media with mandate to increase brand awareness outside of sports space (traditional and emerging media)
- Pitch Athletes Unlimited executives and athletes for thought leadership and industry speaking opportunities
- Develop and manage relationships with AU athletes, as well as design and execute external talent strategy and engagement with celebrities, influencers and cultural figures
- Manage B2B brand communications efforts, collaborating with partnerships staff and sponsors on drafting press releases, pitching stories and securing coverage
- Play a critical role in event management and promotion of various scope and scale (private dinners, large scale brand activations, B2B)
- Own strategy and management of LinkedIn
- Work cross functionally with social, marketing, fan engagement, broadcast, and digital and content teams and support brand activities on the ground
- Manage internal and corporate communications portfolio
- Collaborate with external PR agency
Requirements
- 7- 10 years of relevant experience
- Established network and connections within media, entertainment, culture and lifestyle space
- Strong knowledge of and experience leveraging social and digital platforms to drive and support brand storytelling
- Proclivity towards creativity and business with an adeptness towards identifying and executing on opportunities
- Holistic command of entertainment, sports and culture spaces
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and database management skills
- A self starter, with an ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge of Google Suite products
- Travel requirements based on role, approximately 25% of the time
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Benefits
This role is full-time, remote and is compensated at a range of $89,000-$110,000 annually. While this is the intended range, the actual compensation may vary based on several factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, and geographic location of the position.
