Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Social Media Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growing a following for media outlets, a strong network of content creators, proficiency in social media analytics, and excellent Excel skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement, followership, and brand awareness across multiple platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Create and curate high-quality, engaging content that resonates with our target audience while aligning with our organization's values and editorial standards.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with content creators, influencers, and partners to amplify our message and reach new audiences.
- Monitor social media trends, audience behavior, and competitor activity to inform strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
- Analyze performance metrics and KPIs to track the success of campaigns, optimize content, and drive continuous improvement.
- Generate regular reports and insights using Excel and other analytics tools to inform decision-making and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in social media technology, algorithms, and best practices to ensure our organization remains at the forefront of digital innovation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for media outlets or organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and engage a large social media following.
- Strong network of content creators, influencers, and partners within the media space.
- Proficiency in social media analytics platforms (e.g., Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics) and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
