Head of Marketing (North America)- Leading popular global young beauty brand

Our Client

GMC is assisting this well-known young beauty brand, which generates over $500 million in global revenue, in recruiting a North American Market Head based in LA. This brand ranks in the top 10 for social media activity and is highly favored by young users, indicating significant potential for future growth.
This brand originated in China but is currently selling well globally. The ideal candidate would preferably have a Chinese background and be able to communicate fluently in both Chinese and English.

Responsibilities

Lead the 360 brand marketing strategy and go-to market vision, creating concise briefs for the team to activate against, and delivering clear direction, rich storytelling and sharp product positioning for each team member to build their strategy around.
Oversee campaign development + execution, marketing calendar, email + SMS marketing, influencer marketing, social media, and PR.
Set campaign KPIs, track performance, and lead analysis of findings. Share learnings across the organization to inform future initiatives, optimize campaigns, and creative best practices.
Create, manage and maintain P&L for the marketing department to impact overall company P&L.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across creative, social media, and product development Guide, develop, and support a team of direct reports who are collectively responsible for brand marketing + partnerships, copywriting, and community building.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience with a notable beauty/cosmetic brand.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
Process driven, strong execution.
Understanding of brand marketing, influencer marketing, events marketing, PR.
Deep knowledge of beauty industry trends from both a marketing and product perspective.
Success track record of cross-brand and IP collabs with brands like IPSY, Disney, Sanrio, etc.
Experience working with bi-lingual, bi-cultural organizations, and remote teams a big plus.
Understanding of product development and innovation, packaging and formulations a big plus.
Team leadership and development experience.
Strong knowledge of creative and content production workflows for cross-functional projects, including digital, social media, and printing.
Collaborative, communicative, and organized team player - you can balance long term strategic projects with daily fire drills, complex cross-functional projects, working with a wide range of personalities and teams, and juggling multiple priorities at once.
Experience setting and managing marketing budgets.
Experience with Google Analytics, Dash Hudson, Google Docs, Excel, Asana preferred.
Good command of Chinese is preferred.
