Inspired by the ever seeking and sensing hound, the company was established in 2011 and works passionately to find, capture and supply the very best in craft spirits made with locally sourced ingredients and pure rocky mountain snow melt. We are proud that Spirit Hound has been honored with more than 75 major awards over the years which has helped us become one of the fastest growing spirit brands in Colorado the past three years. We are now extending our distribution footprint into new markets outside Colorado.
We are seeking a Marketing Leader who will take on the ongoing development and growth of our brand.
Role Description
The Vice President of Marketing will have overall responsibility and accountability for Marketing and Brand Management at Spirit Hound. This role includes devising, managing, and executing the brand and marketing strategy across all platforms.
This will be a hands-on role which will require close collaboration with the CEO, VP of Sales, Sales Team and Tasting Room Managers. This is a full-time hybrid role to include time working at the Spirit Hound home base and distillery in Lyons, working from our Denver location, traveling to work in all of our markets and flexibility for some remote work.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Includes the following and other duties that may be assigned:
- Build on current identity, communicate, and implement an effective and inspiring strategy for the Spirit Hound brand
- Define the story, purpose, and differentiation of the brand for translation into marketing campaigns, materials, and messaging
- Construct and execute a digital strategy for the brand ensuring that the brand has industry-leading social media platforms, websites, and digital campaigns
- Agree and implement activity plans centrally and with the CEO, VP Sales, and sales team for implementation with Wholesaler partners for both trade and consumers that are in line with business and brand goals to increase awareness and sales of the brand
- Develop and implement marketing plans for the Core 4 range and extensions in existing markets
- Develop and manage the marketing launch from concept to execution of the core range and extensions in new markets
- Create and execute an experiential strategy for Spirit Hound for rollout across trade and consumer platforms (ATL, BTL, trade and consumer activations)
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with 3rd party brands and influencers to build awareness and sales
- Develop brand guidelines, POS, and any other physical assets required centrally and by individual markets to help maximize the performance of the brand
- Oversee all communication and engagement with trade and consumers
- Select and manage agencies
- Manage and execute all PR activity (with agencies when appropriate)
- Establish a professional marketing structure for the business and appropriate reporting, monitoring, and budgeting plans and processes
- Lead and implement plans for external consumer and trade events such as festivals and other brand activities
- Work with Tasting Rooms manager to develop marketing plans and materials for the TRs and ensure that the TRs are delivering best in class brand experiences
- Presence at external consumer and trade events where required.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

- Strong commercially focused experience
- Proven experience in devising and successfully implementing brand plans and strategies to significantly increase sales
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Creativity and an excellent eye for design
- Experience managing NPD and packaging projects
- Digital experience with social media, website development, paid media, and SEO is a distinct advantage
- Proven success in creating brand activities that make a big impact from a limited budget
- Skilled in working collaboratively with a wide range of different colleagues and across a range of disciplines to achieve objectives and consensus.
- Highly effective time management skills and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle highly stressful situations
- Proven ability to plan and execute projects to meet required deadlines
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong customer service skills
- Demonstrate a positive, proactive, ambitious, and can-do attitude
- Ability to communicate with others and possess strong interpersonal skills

- Must be self-motivated, reliable, customer focused, commercially astute, and a hard-working individual.
Must Have Requirements
- 7-10 years’ experience in a leadership consumer marketing role
- Experience in the beverage alcohol industry and a passion for spirits are required.
