Dynamo is seeking an Executive Producer to lead our editorial team. This person’s motivation is to tell memorable stories that people want to talk about later that night over dinner.
They love cinema and believe more of its attributes belong in YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok videos. They are always seeking out new technologies that make video production more cost-efficient so they can tell more and better stories. They are a student of YouTube successes like Cleo Abram, Johnny Harris, and Mr. Beast.
They are an empathetic manager who knows that sometimes the best kindness is clear, direct, and constructive critical feedback. They will work extremely hard to build Dynamo into an iconic, long-lasting brand. They know that only happens if we never publish videos that suck, and we keep costs under control.
About the Role
This role is for a creative executive who can lead production and collaborate across multiple projects while keeping an eye on our goals for excellence and cost-efficiency. They will work closely with the CEO/EIC to shape the creative direction, overseeing both the strategic vision and the operational execution of each video production. They’ll bring a deep understanding of video and storytelling, particularly on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
They are the type of person who sees an incredible visual on TikTok or Instagram and immediately starts imagining how to recreate that shot at a higher quality and then build a sophisticated, digestible, and memorable story around it. They can do the reverse, too: figure out a holy shit visual to go with a story concept.
They are details-oriented and know great work needs lots of notes to get there.

Key Responsibilities:
• Creative Direction: Collaborate with the CEO/EIC and team to produce high-quality, emotionally and intellectually engaging videos that use powerful visuals and sound to tell sophisticated stories with a sharp, clear, and conversational voice.
• Project management: Oversee the production of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each one aligns with Dynamo’s mission to be cost-effective while maintaining the highest production quality.
• Team Leadership & Development: Guide and mentor a small group of exceptionally talented in-house producers, while building and maintaining a network of world-class freelancers.
• Embrace Technology: Stay ahead of the curve in editing technology, especially AI-powered tools, and implement them to create efficiencies in production workflows.
• Team Collaboration: Serve as a true creative partner to the CEO, working collaboratively to execute the vision, while managing a cross-functional team of video editors, animators, cinematographers, and hosts.
Qualifications:
• Have built and led a video team at a publisher and have reached large audiences with high-quality work. They’ve demonstrated a commitment to diversity in their hiring.
• They have a robust, diverse, and global network of talented freelance video editors, animators, producers, and directors of photography.
• They have a proven ability to balance creative vision and high standards with practical, cost-effective solutions, understanding that Dynamo’s success is as much about the bottom line as it is about producing great work.
• Familiarity with the latest video editing technologies, particularly those powered by AI, and a willingness to lean into those tools to streamline production.
• A proven track record of managing projects from concept through to delivery, juggling multiple creative and logistical elements simultaneously with a calm, strategic approach.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to give direct but empathetic feedback that fosters growth.
• A creative partner who thinks big, stays grounded, and can collaborate effectively with others to turn visionary ideas into reality.
• Based in New York, and willing to come into the office regularly to meet with the team. Flexibility to work in a hybrid role with a balance of in-person and remote work.
Compensation:
The compensation for this role is a mix of cash and equity in Dynamo, based on a sliding scale depending on experience and equity preference. Salary and bonus together ranges from $150,000 to $300,000. The equity offered is meaningful and will be a critical part of the total compensation package.
