Assistant Manager, Performance Marketing

MAIN PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Communication Activations, the Assistant Manager of Performance Marketing will actively participate in leading the development and implementation of all performance media activations and campaign management (paid search, paid social, programmatic display, organic social and other performance marketing initiatives). This person will also lead all day-to-day budget and forecast needs, as well as all marketing analytics and reporting. They must be a team player who is highly adaptable with the ability to synthesize insights about campaign and channel performance to make actionable recommendations to improve overall strategy. They also must have extremely strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills, and advanced skills in Excel and a background in analytics is strongly recommended.
Main Accountabilities/objective Of The Position
Performance Marketing & 360 Campaign Management
- Deep understanding of performance marketing channels including paid search, paid social, remarketing, display, programmatic, organic search and new emerging channels.
- Day-to-day lead for all performance marketing channels and campaigns, especially paid search and always-on programs, with the goal of driving revenue and client engagement.
- Assist with development of campaigns media plans and annual strategy plans for always-on tactics. Must have the ability to evaluate media plans against overall strategy to determine efficiency/effectiveness.
- Analyze performance of campaigns to make continued optimizations to strengthen ROI and engagement.
- Manage and execute channel and project road maps to ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
- Understanding of the luxury and retail media landscape and consumer behavior.
Marketing Analytics and Data Management
- Help advance understanding of the measurement framework by supporting the greater media team with all analytics needs.
- Create and analyze digital marketing campaign performance. Responsible for creating reports that summarize performance and overall learnings, then turning insights into actionable next steps (including weekly, monthly, campaign wrap reports, quarterly, and annual report, as well as any ad hoc analyses and maintaining other reporting documents).
- Data collection & validating/cleansing – as part of bigger strategic projects, this person will be responsible for collecting and validating data from a number of sources to support various data projects.
- Experience with GA4 (or other web analytics tools), Looker, SA360, Google Ads, Meta Business Manager and Salesforce is recommended
Budget Management & Forecasting
- Support with forecasting online performance for media channels.
- Assist in managing the full Media & Digital Budget, aligning with all team members and partnering with Finance, Accounting and Cartier HQ teams to maintain balanced financials.
- Manage and process invoices and budgeting, including maintaining internal campaign spend documents, reconciling general billing issues, and invoicing.
- Maintain internal Media Planning Tool (BumbleBee) to make sure it is up-to-date and in line with Cartier HQ guidelines, working across all team members to guarantee accuracy.
Industry Trends & Innovation
- Conduct research of media, retail, competitive trends to share with the greater business in the form of regular monthly newsletters and presentations.
Team Dynamics
- Develop working relationships with the media agencies and help create new ways of working and improve current processes.
- Partner with local US teams (E-commerce, Integrated Media, Commercial) and HQ counterparts on key projects to enhance media strategy.
- Continue strengthening relationships with key media partners (Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.) with regular business meetings to discuss ongoing business goals and measurement plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required; a background in marketing, consumer behavior or analytics is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years full-time work experience including performance marketing, analytics at a media agency, consulting firm.
- Experience within luxury or retail industry is a plus.
- Media experience along with digital knowledge including search (paid and organic), paid social, programmatic display, and web. Experience working in digital development environments and applying best practices.
- Team player with initiative, meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management, and strong interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task, adapt to a quickly changing environment, while working well with cross-functional teams.
- Must be a self-starter, entrepreneurial, resourceful and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment where self-sufficiency is essential.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.) is required.
- Expert in MS Excel and experience working with large data sets, reporting databases, and have the ability to sort, analyze, import, export, clean data and write formulas.
- Previous experience with web measurement technologies preferred:
- Salesforce, Google Analytics/GA4, Adobe Analytics
- Familiarity with Salesforce Ecosystem, Looker, and other marketing tools (Asana, SharePoint, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new software and programs.
