The
Chief Medical Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and responsible for overseeing the clinical aspects of strategy, product development, evidence generation, and regulatory compliance. Through deep clinical expertise, the CMO will ensure that products meet the needs of healthcare providers and patients. This role is critical in shaping the future of the medical devices, ensuring they offer superior safety, efficacy, and usability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Leadership: Serve as the medical expert within the company, providing strategic direction on clinical applications and the development of medical devices
- Clinical Oversight: Lead the design and execution of clinical studies for evidence generation to drive adoption of products
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the regulatory team to ensure compliance with FDA, CE, and other relevant authorities. Participate in submissions, audits, and reviews
- Product Development: Work closely with R&D and Product Management to integrate clinical insights into product development and refinement. Ensure that products are user-friendly, safe, and effective
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between the medical community and the company. Collaborate with key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and industry experts to gather insights and drive innovation
- Clinical Education: Develop and implement clinical education programs for healthcare providers to build awareness and ensure proper usage and application of the company’s products
- Business Strategy and Business Development: Partner with the CEO and other executive leaders to align the company’s clinical and commercial strategies. Help drive market adoption through collaborations and partnerships, positioning the company for future growth
- Patient Advocacy: Ensure that patient safety and outcomes are always at the forefront of the company’s innovations and product strategies
Qualifications:
- MD degree with specialization in radiology, interventional radiology, interventional cardiology or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on development of innovative medical devices and/or ultrasound technology
- Proven experience in leading clinical trials and working with regulatory bodies (FDA, CE, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the medical device lifecycle from development to market
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical needs into actionable business strategies
- Experience in guiding R&D teams on clinical applications and usability
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with key external stakeholders in the medical field
- Experience with advanced ultrasound technologies and imaging systems
- Familiarity with AI-driven healthcare solutions and innovations in medical imaging
- A track record of successful product launches in the medical device industry
- Strong industry relationships with clinicians, regulatory authorities, payers and healthcare organizations
- Extensive knowledge and network within the reimbursement system
