AO + co is working with a growing beauty startup to find an Influencer Marketing Consultant.
This is a remote / part-time / freelance role with an estimated weekly commitment 15-20 hours a week.
This role has the potential to turn into a full-time remote role on the Brand Marketing team!
About the role
We are looking for an experienced team member to support us in designing our influencer
marketing program on a consulting basis, building it as an in-house function from the ground
up. The ideal candidate has established and scaled influencer marketing programs before,
working across an array of budgets. They are deeply entrenched in social media, influencer
marketing analytics, and have strong existing creator relationships relevant to our market.
They are comfortable working directly with both upper management and junior teammates,
bouncing between high-level strategic thinking, and daily operations.
Key responsibilities:
● Design and implement evergreen and launch moment programming and reporting
for paid, seeding / replenishment, and ambassador initiatives.
● Build a strategy focused on cultivating a deep sense of community between creators,
consumers, our founder, and the brand—going the extra mile to discover and nurture
relationships.
● Design a monthly reporting structure for campaign analysis, refining tactics to
optimize outcomes; support the team in evaluating success.
● Drive sourcing, recruitment, and retention of influencers; pull from your “rolodex” of
existing creator relationships who align with our brand's values and target audience.
● Guide our social / influencer manager on the most efficient and effective ways to
execute logistical team needs, from writing notes to packaging and shipping sends.
Support the team in assessing contracts and partnerships to ensure mutual benefit;
partner closely with our VP of Brand Marketing on budgets to maximize ROI across
influencer partnerships.
● Ideate how to leverage our own “in-house dermfluencer” founder to drive brand
awareness and affinity
● Guide creator briefing process, working closely with PD and marketing on product
education and creating opportunities for creators to connect with, and learn directly
from our founder.
● Support in concepting community events and activations with the goal of creating
deep ties to our founder, our brand, and establishing a deep sense of pride in being
part of our community.
● Play a key role in establishing our professional / skincare expert ambassador program.
● Maximize operational efficiency across teams as it relates to influencer
marketing—guiding teams including Operations on managing a high-volume of
sends, and Finance on optimizing the partner payment process.
● Onboard team to creator marketing tool.
Qualifications:
● 5+ years of influencer marketing with beauty and/or DTC experience—beauty
experience is required.
● Deep understanding of social media space and emerging trends across platforms
including Instagram, YouTube, and Tiktok.
● Impeccable interpersonal skills with a love for building deep one-on-one relationships,
and creating a warm community.
● Existing influencer relationships in skincare / beauty space.
● Confidence and charism as a spokesperson for the brand.
● Knowledge of social commerce channels.
● Comfort in working with upper management.
● Expert in gathering, analyzing, and acting on data insights.
● Strong organization, project management, and negotiation skills.
● Enthusiastic about the chance to scale an Influencer Marketing program from the
ground up.
● Willingness to travel for key in person events that will deepen influencer relations.
