The Director of Marketing Operations is responsible for developing documented strategies and processes that will measure and evaluate marketing performance and continuously improve the performance and impact of the marketing department. This person provides leadership and direction to the Marketing Managers at the field level, supporting multiple properties in various markets and geographic locations, necessitating proactive resourcefulness and strategic mindfulness.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and programs to ensure accountability
- Exercise regular budget management and tracking in coordination with the SVP, Marketing to include tracking Home Office and property level marketing spend and timing to ensure financial accountability, as well as provide consolidated marketing spend and forecasting reporting against budget
- Manage and maintain sponsorship and publication relationships
- Assist in the management of corporate marketing alongside the SVP, Marketing
- Develop, improve, and ensure the compliance of documented core marketing strategies and processes in all corporate and local marketing, at the direction of the SVP, Marketing
- Track ongoing results of marketing initiatives under strategies and processes to ensure the optimization of marketing spend and continuous improvement
- Demonstrates the ability to lead and manage interactions with and between others with the specific goal of providing service and organizational success to assigned teams
- Demonstrates transparent and visible leadership with business partners to ensure strong teamwork for assigned groups.
- Manage goals, presence, results, sponsorships, and budget from all Home Office industry events and organizations
- Manage relationships with advertising publications for the Coastal, Inland, Boating, and Industry publications
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required with a preferred focus in Marketing, Public Relations, or Advertising
- At least five (5) years of relevant and progressive experience in marketing strategy and/or operations
- Demonstrated and proven strength in project and process management in a corporate environment
- Progressive experience with marketing strategy and/or process development, including documentation and tracking of strategy/process results
- Demonstrated leadership and relationship building capabilities, exhibiting a welcoming approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with all levels within the organization
- Must be able to proficiently speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to foster mental creativity for purposes of problem solving and thinking outside of the box when necessary
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel, products as well as other various Marketing specific and enterprise marketing platforms and software
- Must be an innovative embodying a passionate curiosity, inquiring intuitively to capture essential angle and details
- Must have an entrepreneurial spirit with an innate willingness to jump in wherever needed to solve problems creating positive forward progression for the organization
- Must possess excellent organizational skills, fostering an organic proactive approach to tasks and deadlines leaning on independent resourcefulness
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for the purpose of business related travel which may require visiting various site locations, and must be able to pass a background check deemed acceptable by the Company
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds, as needed
- Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device as needed when on site visits
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
- Must be able to operate general computer equipment including laptop, keyboard, and mouse with ease
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk setting
- Must be able to use eyes for the purpose of viewing computer monitors and analyze data for extended periods of time
- Must be able to efficiently use ears for the purpose of listening to and analyzing data audibly in order to effectively communicate with various parties including but not limited to staff, management, employees, visitors, etc.
- Travel may be required on an as needed basis up to and exceeding, if required, 15% of the calendar year
