Summary:
Throughout the Boston Celtics’ storied history, they have long stood for equality, and respect, including hiring the first African American Coach and starting the first all-black starting five. The Celtics have won a record 18 NBA Championships, including eight (8) in a row from 1959-1966, and winning their most recent in 2024. In addition, 50 former Celtics players, management or staff have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In December 2002 the team returned to local ownership for the first time since 1963.
We are seeking an energetic, collaborative leader to join our Jr. Celtics Academy team! On day one, you will have the opportunity to impact youth development in the community through highly engaging basketball programs teaching the standards of Celtics basketball to kids, coaches, and parents. Our next teammate will be super organized, detailed, love a fast-paced environment, and have a background in marketing/communications, event planning and strategy. Responsibilities:
- Drive strategy for youth basketball, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community impact
- Design and execute innovative promotional campaigns for Jr. Celtics events in collaboration with Marketing and Partnership Strategy teams
- Assist in budget maintenance to maximize partner alignment and deliver measurable ROI
- Spearhead new business opportunities, building league and facility partnerships to expand program reach
- Own JCA performance metrics, managing dashboards and deliver comprehensive annual reports that inform strategy and decision-making
- Create and deliver unforgettable JCA Theme Nights, enhance fan engagement and program visibility
- Host and elevate in-arena game day experiences, ensuring they reflect the excellence of the Celtics and Jr. Celtics brands
- Lead and mentor the JCA internship program, fostering the next generation of sports professionals through hands-on experience and development
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years working in business strategy, youth development or ideally, both
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Ability to connect with members of JCA community, from players to parents to partners
- Demonstrate dedication to positively impacting youth basketball and youth development
- Willingness to keep a flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and leader by example
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience
