The ideal candidate will reside in the Midwest US and will work remotely when not visiting client sites.
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will provide strategic leadership to develop and execute innovative sales, marketing, and communication plans. This role requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record of success, a creative approach to brand building, and the ability to think strategically. The individual will lead the Sales and Marketing team as a key member of the leadership team, promoting new offerings, expanding market share, and strengthening the organization’s brand presence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and execute annual sales and marketing strategic business plans to achieve revenue growth and market expansion.
- Assess market potential, identify new business opportunities, and create synergistic strategies.
- Design and implement sales methodologies and cycles based on market research and competitor analysis.
- Analyze and evaluate sales performance metrics, methods, and costs to ensure optimal results.
Sales and Account Management
- Manage OEM and distribution networks to achieve sales targets and ensure accurate forecasting.
- Oversee and maintain up-to-date OEM and distributor contracts while enhancing sales infrastructure.
- Directly manage major customer accounts and target account development strategies.
- Foster positive relationships with customers and distributors to strengthen partnerships.
Marketing Leadership
- Collaborate with marketing agencies to expand digital presence, including website, e-commerce, social media, and branding strategies.
- Leverage market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis to guide marketing efforts.
- Develop strategies to increase customer base and promote new and existing offerings.
Team Development and Leadership
- Build and manage high-performing sales and marketing teams aligned with organizational goals.
- Create training, compensation, and sales incentive programs to drive performance.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee customer service processes to deliver superior customer experiences.
- Ensure accurate and timely responses to customer specifications, including quotations and deviations.
- Collaborate with operations to provide optimal lead times and expedited service when necessary.
Market Analysis and Strategic Growth
- Conduct SWOT analysis to identify market opportunities and threats.
- Monitor the competitive landscape to recommend tactical strategies.
- Use customer insights to identify new business opportunities and propose market-expanding projects.
Acquisition and Partnerships
- Identify and evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities to support business growth.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve objectives.
Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Responsibilities

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (required).
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field (preferred).
Experience
- 10+ years of sales and marketing management experience, in the Power Transmission industry.
- Expertise in managing sales funnels, quotas, and revenue goals.
- Extensive travel experience across the U.S. and Canada to maintain and develop customer relationships.
