Job Description
Purpose:
The Creative Director: Digital Design conceives, designs and develops high-caliber digital and interactive deliverables for internal and external communications, promotional programs and meetings/events that support business objectives for AbbVie teams, across the entire enterprise. Works independently and/or collaboratively with fellow design staff, including Creative Directors, fellow Designers or directing Junior/Production staff or vendor partners. Demonstrates sound, creative thinking and has the ability to relate strategic design concepts to a client’s overall business plans and goals. Applies strong working knowledge of design, digital trends to provide the best solutions for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees all digital design projects and is responsible for increasing the quality and creative level of work produced by all digital disciplines.
- Manages digital projects from concept to completion and translates marketing objectives into creative strategies. Strong leadership, communication and project management skills.
- Maintains awareness of current design trends, new techniques, and technology, for digital design including ecommunications, websites, social media and other digital driven initiatives.
- Develops solid client relations, plans leading edge strategies, clearly communicates and justifies concepts, and supports the collaborative efforts of a large group of creative professionals.
- An efficient time manager capable of juggling a variety of client deadlines and overseeing the selection of external partners in times of overload.
- Responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the digital design team, including multiple platforms, video, Ceros, etc. Leads design solutions and creative development throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Strong technical expertise in digital design software, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign, Ceros, Sharepoint, Staff Base, and Articulate. Specific areas of focus or expertise may include 2D or 3D animation/rendering, video production and editing, audio recording/editing, interactive design.
- Must consistently demonstrate efficiencies in execution from script to screen, including storyboarding, identifying plug-ins and software recommendations that deliver a high-quality experience while clearly communicating key messages within the limitations of both timeline and budget.
- Must ensure the optimal experience of final deliverables through requirements/specifications gathering; whether web/mobile, streaming/on-demand, large-format/projection, etc.
- Recognizes and conforms to budgetary constraints in execution of design and production work. Able to present strategy and design concepts to clients (at all levels). Understands and follows Corporate branding guidelines and keeps projects on brand, message and strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Advertising or related field. Masters degree preferred but not required.
- 8-10 years combined experience as Creative Director, Art Director, Marketing Copywriter, senior print, presentation or multimedia designer in an advertising or interactive agency

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
