The VP of Sales & Marketing is the leader of sales & marketing for wholesale and studio divisions, overseeing all of its activities for a major brand of specialty footwear and apparel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: strategy, tactics, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, sales management, expenses, compensation, promotions and programs. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance and drive business through operations, marketing and merchandising. Reports to the CEO.
Corporate Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and executes a strategic business plan for the division including achievement of assigned metrics such as those related to financial forecasts and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborates and communicates at all levels of the organization to meet corporate and division goals.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and company policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
- Approves contracts, actively assisting with negotiations.
- Approves advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, new technologies, and market conditions relevant to the division and industry.
- Responsible for all aspects of global sales and marketing efforts.
Sales & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for driving sales efforts, achieving sales goals and to enhance the business’s position within the market, for the US, Canada and International wholesale and studio divisions.
- Direct sales efforts with sales Directors and Managers, while monitoring the effectiveness, ensuring that they are aligned with the overall business objectives, and meet budget targets.
- Creates processes and strategies that enables accountability in all appropriate departments.
- Manage direct and in-direct communication to facilitate clear and consistent information.
- Develop sales department budgets, including growth initiatives to reach company goals.
- Works closely with the senior sales management to streamline sales processes/strategies, allocating quotas, balancing territories, and setting clear accountable sales targets.
- Develops employee compensation programs, to support the strategic initiatives of each sales
- department, in conjunction with the sales managers.
- Develops programs and promotions for accounts and departments, to achieve business targets for revenue and margin.
- Evaluate and analyze programs and promotions, to ensure targeted ROI and future initiatives.
- Ensure Marketing department develops innovative integrated plans and strategies for maximizing market outreach for B2B and DTC.
- Drive the ongoing evolution of an aggressive marketing B2B and DTC calendar that supports sales initiatives and programs for dance studios and retail accounts.
- Oversight to develop and manage marketing efforts, concepts, and promotions, across all marketing platforms for each division.
- Guide the execution and logistics of appropriate trade shows and sales events (for studio and wholesale initiatives) , to achieve business objectives.
- Evaluate and analyses marketing initiatives, to ensure targeted ROI.
Operations & Merchandising Responsibilities:
- Participate in operations meetings, to formulate and implement strategy, to improve overall function of the business and resources.
- Identification of solutions and technologies that drive sales productivity, expense
- efficiency, and consequently profit growth.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure that the sales department internal needs are communicated and achieved.
- Create policies and procedures for the sales department, relating to all aspects of the business,
- supporting the functional infrastructure.
- Works collaboratively with the HR department and senior management on staffing issues,
- effective recruiting, and realignment strategies, for the needs of each sales department.
- Responsible for planning and oversight on sales department activities and expenses, for efficiency in all categories.
- Reporting and collaboration in deciding resource allocation based on the internal processes and the external market.
- Participate in merchandising & production meetings, to provide and interpret market feedback,
- alongside data analysis, to assist in all elements of production planning.
- Support development with market forecasts, trends and issues, highlighting clear opportunity
- that exists to extend market share.
- Responsible for identifying and understanding trends within the existing market, as well
- exploring prospective market opportunities. Pursues opportunities that increase sales volumes for the business.
