About the position
The Senior Manager, Product Management and Planning is responsible for managing the full product lifecycle and shaping long-term product strategy across key business segments, shaping the future for the Industrial Products Division (IPD). This role owns the development and execution of multi-year product roadmaps, driving feature definition, product enhancements, and ensuring alignment with market needs, business goals, and customer expectations. Operating in a deeply cross-functional environment, the Senior Manager, Product Management and Planning acts as a bridge between global teams, collaborating with regional and international stakeholders to coordinate and deliver high-impact product initiatives. The role includes market analysis, strategic positioning, and business planning to support new product development and commercialization. The Senior Manager, Product Management and Planning plays a leadership role in steering product initiatives from concept to launch and beyond, incorporating customer feedback and market trends to guide continuous improvement. The role requires strong project and program management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously. This individual is also expected to drive innovation, lead cross-functional teams, and influence change across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex, cross-functional product development programs from concept through launch, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- Develop and execute detailed program plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure effective governance through structured stage-gate processes, compliance standards, and smooth handoffs between teams
- Own program outcomes and maintain alignment of stakeholder expectations across global and multifunctional teams
- Drive continuous improvement by leading retrospectives and documenting lessons learned, risks, and key decisions
- Act as the primary liaison between U.S. and international teams to ensure seamless coordination and communication
- Facilitate collaboration across hardware, software, systems, marketing, engineering, and sales teams to support product execution and readiness
- Conduct regular cross-functional meetings to manage priorities, resolve issues, and maintain program momentum
- Represent regional and functional needs to global stakeholders, influencing product direction and building consensus
- Provide regular program updates through reports, dashboards, and executive presentations
- Own the development and refinement of 3–5 year product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and evolving market needs
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and marketing to translate customer insights into actionable product features
- Support the full product lifecycle, including development, enhancement, launch, and end-of-life planning
- Drive go-to-market readiness by coordinating product launches and ensuring cross-functional alignment and execution
- Gather and integrate customer, market, and competitive insights to guide strategic planning and roadmap decisions
- Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to identify new opportunities and unmet needs
- Build and present business cases for new product initiatives and enhancements
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform innovation and strategic product adjustments
- Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations that influence executive decision-making
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, operations, engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in management/strategy consulting, program management, product planning or development, or related roles in a technology or engineering-driven environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product launch excellence, including full-cycle product management, business planning & analysis, and interfacing with customers and stakeholders
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and other software tools for project planning and operations
- Technical product expertise
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams)
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) MBA
- Minimum 2 years of experience in R&D or Innovation Department under the direction of an experienced Product Development manager
- Knowledge of Tableau
