The Events & Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing Chamber events and programs that enhance member engagement, promote community connections, and support the Chamber’s mission of Building a Stronger Business Community.
This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Events Coordinator will work closely with staff, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to ensure successful, high-quality events that reflect the professionalism and values of the Corona Chamber of Commerce.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Coordinate logistics for all Chamber annual events, including Taste of Corona, Women’s Leadership Conference, Golf Tournament, Annual Board Installation and Gala, Job Fair/Business Expo, Legislative Fundraiser Dinner, Economic Forecast, and other Chamber events as needed.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, and task lists to ensure smooth execution and on-time delivery.
- Secure and coordinate vendors (caterers, table/chairs, AV, etc.), negotiate contracts, and maintain vendor relationships.
- Coordinate registration, seating charts, signage, promotional materials, and guest communications.
- Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown; ensure staff and volunteers are well briefed and supported.
- Work on-site at events to ensure a seamless and professional experience for attendees, sponsors, and partners.
Sponsorship & Marketing Support
- Collaborate with the Chamber team to promote events and fulfill sponsorship benefits.
- Assist in creating marketing materials, invitations, and digital content for event promotion.
- Maintain accurate sponsor tracking sheets and ensure recognition is provided pre, during, and post event.
- Support sponsor recruitment by providing updated materials, benefits, and engagement data.
Community & Member Engagement
- Work with Chamber team to ensure events provide networking and promotional opportunities for members.
- Serve as a Chamber representative at events to greet members, guests, and community leaders.
- Ensure a welcoming and professional atmosphere that enhances the Chamber’s reputation for excellence.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain event budgets, expense tracking, and invoice processing.
- Prepare event reports, attendance lists, and evaluation summaries for leadership review.
- Update event details in the Chamber’s CRM system (GrowthZone).
- Maintain event supplies, decor, and inventory.
- Assist other staff with programs, marketing, or administrative projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or community relations (nonprofit or Chamber experience preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple events at once.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and event management platforms.
- Creative problem-solver with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends for Chamber events.
- Follow other assigned duties as needed to support the Corona Chamber’s mission
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
Work Environment
This position operates in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment with frequent contact with Chamber members, community leaders, and vendors. Some local travel is required for event setup and coordination. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
