We are on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Product Marketing Strategist to join our team during an exciting phase of growth. After successfully gaining product-market fit with the academic research segment, we're now expanding our focus to enterprise and industry verticals, promoting the narrative of "AI for evidence-based reasoning." As our inaugural product marketer, you will play a pivotal role in defining how our brand is perceived in the market, shaping our go-to-market strategies, and contributing significantly to our growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • User & Market Insights: Conduct comprehensive research on the workings of academic researchers, R&D labs, pharma/medtech teams, and other industry players. Identify pain points, workflow inefficiencies, and success metrics. Gain a deep understanding of their objectives and challenges.
  • Positioning & Messaging: Establish and test our value proposition and messaging frameworks tailored to various customer segments, including researchers, enterprise R&D, and decision-makers.
  • Launch Strategy: Collaborate with product and sales teams to strategize and execute major product launches. Define the launch strategy, campaigns, and outcomes measurement.
  • Sales Empowerment: Provide the sales team with critical tools such as competitive analyses, presentations, case studies, and responses to common objections. Help them articulate the unique value of our offerings.
  • Pricing & Packaging: Work alongside leadership and finance to propose and refine product bundles and pricing structures that align with different buyer segments.
  • Product Alignment: Leverage competitive insights and user feedback to influence the product roadmap. Analyze competitive landscapes and communicate our distinct advantages, ensuring coherent product offerings for our users.

This role is suitable for experienced candidates and we may consider elevating to a Head of Marketing position based on qualifications. We welcome applicants from the San Francisco Bay Area or strong remote candidates in the U.S. who are willing to travel periodically.

  • You have 5+ years of experience marketing SaaS or AI products, with a background in both individual/freemium and enterprise markets.
  • You have experience marketing versatile workflow tools or groundbreaking products that cater to various enterprise use cases and industries.
  • You can influence product roadmap decisions through customer, market, and competitor insights.
  • You have a proven history of driving impactful product marketing initiatives, from influencing roadmap directions to crafting messaging and driving user adoption.
  • Your expertise helps navigate complex product strategy challenges such as differentiation, balancing immediate and long-term goals, and merging inspiring missions with practical value propositions.
  • You possess strong skills in user research and empathy, enabling you to thoroughly understand users, analyze workflows, conduct interviews, and transform insights into compelling messaging and go-to-market strategies.
  • You excel in written and verbal communication; you can create clear value propositions, presentations, and one-pagers, and you can effectively collaborate across teams.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, adept at managing ambiguity, building frameworks from the ground up, and delivering results with limited resources.
  • You understand that product marketing is multifaceted and sometimes ambiguous; you know how to navigate these challenges and define your own path to success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated or evidence-based sectors, such as pharma, medtech, academic research, or government.
  • Background in defining pricing and packaging strategies in a SaaS context.
  • Startup experience working in small teams (approximately 10-50 employees) and comfort in taking on diverse responsibilities.
