As the social media specialist, the candidate will be part of the Marketing and Communications department. He /She will interact with various departments and people internally to understand the various requirements and curate, create campaigns and content for the social handles accordingly. Ultimately, the candidate is required to deliver quality content that appeals to our audiences, attract customers, engage users and boost brand awareness as well as support our internal and external stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities
  • Actively growing the audiences for our existing brand channels - Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, and other social media properties designed to engage audiences and build the University's brand vis a vis its competitors and increase its reach online to the TG
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written)
  • Create Content that delivers desired ROI
  • Reputation management
  • Work with various internal and external stakeholders to showcase their successes with the aim of building the university brand
  • Focus on building an organic and loyal social media following
  • Work closely with various stakeholders to develop campaigns
  • Ensure consistent branding and voice through all social media channels
  • Develop monthly reports on emerging trends, competition, etc to support various stakeholders
  • Managing, coordinating, and leading the execution of all social media
  • Developing and maintaining regular social performance reports.
  • Identifying new strategies and channels that present an opportunity to reach the target audience.
  • Monitoring, listening and Moderating user-generated posts and replies.
  • Translating marketing and PR content into highly engaging, social-friendly content.
  • Interpreting insights and community conversations into actionable recommendations.
  • Building Online communities and ensuring all social channels are compiled with.
  • Crisis Management

Educational Qualification

  • Post Graduate, Bachelor's degree in mass communication
  • Social media relevant courses
  • Digital marketing courses

Technical Competencies

  • IT savvy
  • Understand data analytics and ability to convert into simple readable reports

Professional and Behavioural Competencies

  • Expert on all social media formats; abreast of latest trends in social media.
  • Digital marketing expert
  • Possess an keen sense of what type of content is optimal for which social media network
  • Creative and constantly coming up with new ideas/strategies
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation skills
  • Excellent writing, editing skills and command over English language is a must
  • Write content in an easy to follow manner, with an articulate and professional tone; ability to engage with audiences
  • Write succinct, fact-filled content with an engaging, active tone
  • Creative and think out of the box
  • Creative mind set - eye for design and detail
  • Graphic design experience is a value add, but if not direct others to create great design.
  • Search Engine Optimization skills and understanding of content marketing

Experience

  • Proven work experience as a Social Media specialist, Manager, Senior manager with around 7-8 years of work experience
