  • The Sales & Marketing Director drives the property’s revenue performance and growth, with a focus on optimizing occupancy, elevating the resort’s Average Daily Rate (ADR), and expanding group, membership, spa, and corporate business. This role oversees all sales and marketing initiatives to ensure the property maintains a strong presence within the local and regional business communities, and is a highly engaged, hands-on position involving daily marketing execution, lead generation, relationship-building, and full-cycle business development. The Sales & Marketing Director cultivates key partnerships, fosters exceptional client relationships, and ensures the seamless execution of groups sales, event, and promotional strategies that reflect the elevated standards of our refined spa resort.
  • Pay Rate: $65,000 - $75,000 annually + commissions
  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Marketing Strategy & Communications
  • Lead marketing and promotional initiatives to support resort visibility, guest acquisition, and brand positioning
  • Coordinate local advertising plans and collaborate with corporate marketing team on creative content and campaign schedules
  • Manage relationships with local media partners, including guide publishers, Hudson Valley Magazine, and digital advertising outlets
  • Generate brand-aligned content across platforms, ensuring consistency with the resort’s identity and aesthetic
  • Update resort website content, including menus, holiday announcements, and monthly fitness schedules
  • Develop new group experiences and enhancements aligned with market trends and guest preferences
  • Attend networking events to strengthen community relationships and expand the resort’s business pipeline
  • Sales Strategy & Management
  • Develop and implement sales objectives, revenue targets, and departmental budgets
  • Source, cultivate, and manage new business partnerships and key accounts to achieve volume and profitability goals
  • Identify and pursue new client accounts, membership sales, and group business opportunities through proactive outreach and strategic action plans, responding promptly to new business leads, managing inbound inquiries, and converting opportunities into confirmed new business for the company
  • Events & Group Planning
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of group and event bookings, including hotel room blocks, spa scheduling, onsite activities, and catering plans
  • Collaborate with seasoned meeting planners to design and execute meetings and events from concept to completion
  • Conduct comprehensive client property tours, demonstrating expertise in event spaces, guest rooms, and spa offerings
  • Curate custom menus and event concepts in alignment with client preferences, budgets, and resort standards
  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), group resumes, and itineraries in partnership with the Events Team
  • Coordinate logistics with internal teams, including Reservations, Front Desk, Spa, Fitness, and Food & Beverage, to ensure seamless execution of group stays and events
  • Organize private group wellness classes, mixology experiences, and other custom activities
  • Plan wedding tastings, menus, and event flow; provide day-of coordination with support from the Events Team
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership on seasonal catering menus and specialty offerings
  • Contracts & Billing
  • Prepare event contracts, proposals, and deposit payment schedules
  • Manage deposit processing, final billing, and reconciliation for hotel, spa, and catering items
  • Work closely with the Reservations Team to assign rooming lists, manage room blocks, and coordinate group spa bookings
  • Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements:
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in sales, guest service, or a related field
  • Familiarity with developing and analyzing sales strategies, performance metrics, and market-driven tactics
  • Proficiency with website content management tools
  • Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, and other creative or marketing software

  • Demonstrated leadership capability with an entrepreneurial, proactive mindset
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple hospitality systems, including hotel room booking, catering, dining, and spa reservation platforms
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask and remain composed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
