Position Overview

The Event Manager reports to the Director of Rose Bank Winery. This role oversees all pre-event operations, including logistics, staffing, and vendor coordination, to ensure flawless event execution and client satisfaction. It also leads the event operations team, manages event details, monitors sales performance, and drives continuous improvement through thorough assessments and strong team leadership.

Responsibilities:Pre-Event Operations

  • Manage all event logistics, setup plans, staffing, and vendor coordination based on BEOs
  • Ensure all event details are finalized and communicated clearly prior to each event

Event Program Oversight

  • Supervise the Event Operations team to ensure seamless execution from booking through event completion
  • Conduct pre- and post-event walk-throughs to capture changes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
  • Be present for all events and available to support the team as needed on event days

Client Communication

  • Maintain prompt, professional, and courteous communication with clients
  • Accommodate client requests while maintaining operational boundaries and policies

Event Detail Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date event records, including caterers, beverage packages, planners, timelines, and special requirements

Sales & Performance Support

  • Monitor lead conversion rates and overall sales performance
  • Assist the sales team with client communication and venue tours as needed

Staff Management

  • Schedule and manage event staff, including day-of, beverage, and support staff, to meet event needs

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and support the Event Operations team
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and operational excellence for every guest

Qualifications:Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in event sales, marketing, or event management (hospitality/winery industry preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of management experience leading teams in sales, events, or hospitality.
  • RAMP Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of event sales funnels and proven lead conversion tactics.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) software to track performance and optimize sales strategies (TripleSeat).
  • Considerable ability to identify and isolate problems and to initiate appropriate actions
  • Have a valid driver's licence

Compensation & Benefits

Salary

  • Starting at $22 per hour
  • Commission and bonus structure

Benefit eligibility and accrual rates are determined by hours worked and length of service and are subject to company policy.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Part-time position with variable hours based on business needs
  • Hours may increase during peak seasons (May–June and September–October)
  • During peak season, weekly hours may range between 45–55 hours
  • Evenings and weekends required
  • In-person position

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 45 lbs
  • Ability to be on one's feet for long periods
  • Ability to climb stairs, move equipment, etc.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 55.0 per week
