Position Summary

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be a critical member of the executive team, responsible for shaping and executing Visby’s global marketing strategy as we bring PCR testing into consumers’ hands. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will drive all aspects of brand, product, and growth marketing-translating our scientific credibility into consumer trust and market share. The ideal candidate blends consumer brand storytelling with healthtech commercialization experience. They’ll know how to launch an OTC product, build brand love in regulated categories, and orchestrate omnichannel go-to-market plans.

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to define Visby’s go-to-market roadmap for the OTC and retail segments.
  • Position Visby as the most trusted name in molecular self-testing, establishing a new standard for accuracy and ease of use.
  • Translate market, consumer, and competitive insights into actionable strategies that drive awareness, adoption, and retention.
  • Define pricing, packaging, and channel strategies in collaboration with Product, Commercial, and Regulatory teams.

Brand & Consumer Marketing

  • Develop and own the Visby brand narrative for the consumer era, rooted in empowerment, reliability, and innovation.
  • Lead all aspects of brand identity, creative, and messaging across digital, retail, earned, and owned channels.
  • Oversee integrated campaigns that connect science and lifestyle, driving emotional resonance and consumer trust.
  • Ensure consistency and clarity across every consumer touchpoint, including packaging, website, retail, influencer, and PR efforts.

Product & Market Strategy

  • Lead product marketing across the OTC portfolio, from pipeline prioritization through launch readiness.
  • Partner with R&D and Medical Affairs to translate complex technology into clear, compelling consumer benefits.
  • Define category and segment strategies (e.g., sexual health, respiratory health, wellness) to support launch sequencing and growth.
  • Manage ongoing market insights and brand health tracking to inform future product and innovation decisions.

Growth & Demand Generation

  • Build and scale an omnichannel growth engine spanning digital acquisition, retail partnerships, and e-commerce.
  • Establish data-driven performance marketing frameworks to measure and optimize customer acquisition cost (CAC) and lifetime value (LTV).
  • Drive earned media, influencer, and social strategies that educate, engage, and convert new consumer audiences.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Distribution teams to support retail execution, merchandising, and shelf presence.

Organizational Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary marketing organization across brand, creative, growth, and insights.
  • Select and manage external agency partners across brand, PR, media, and digital.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Regulatory, R&D, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned execution.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including 5+ years in senior roles leading consumer or OTC healthcare brands.
  • Proven track record launching or scaling a regulated consumer product (medical device, diagnostics, healthtech, or wellness).
  • Deep expertise in brand strategy, consumer insights, and integrated marketing.
  • Experience managing retail, e-commerce, and digital acquisition channels.
  • Strong analytical mindset with fluency in marketing metrics, performance tracking, and ROI measurement.
  • Exceptional storytelling ability and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and inspire teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
