The Museum of York County is hiring a full-time (40hours weekly), non-exempt Marketing Manager to join our team. The purpose of this position is to manage the museum’s marketing and communication efforts. Responsibilities includes audience development, ticket sales, branding, web and social media presence, media relations, and advertising initiatives through online, print, and experiential marketing channels.

Projected Salary Range/Grade 115: $52,083.80 - $62,499.84 , salary is determined based on experience and education.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
  • Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
  • Manages, develops and implements marketing strategies and messaging that promotes the museums mission, collections, exhibitions and programming, targeting audience segments, to increase brand awareness, drive visitation, and promote museum membership.
  • Manages the production of marketing and communication materials inclusive of print and digital collateral, advertising, and email marketing.
  • Develops graphic and content design, video production and social media.
  • Manages media relations and press strategies that regularly activates local and regional press.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.
  • Two - four years equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

The Culture and Heritage Commission (Commission) is York County’s appointed governing board for the Culture & Heritage Museums (CHM), the entity that operates York County-owned cultural resources. The Commission carries out its governance responsibilities through a Director, hired to manage the operations of CHM and its professional staff. The Commission’s role is critical in providing oversight and guidance as we plan for the future, manage the present and honor the past. Our board is a York County Commission comprised of 7 Commissioners who are appointed by the County Council and who volunteer their time, expertise and energy to guide this organization.
