We are currently looking for a Regional Marketing Manager to join our team in Irvine, CA.
Leads the incorporation of regionalized market and model information to assess customers, markets, competition and campaign effectiveness within an assigned region. Collects and maintains regional knowledge of key competitors' marketing strategies to plan and react effectively to pricing, product, promotion and placement of Nissan vehicles. Investigates national CMM, C&I and MI studies to define and formulate improved marketing and sales action plans to recommend the expenditure of regional resources in the most prudent and effective manner. Regional lead in coordination of all lead management activities, including dealer selection for Digital Health Assessments and oversight of digital sales performance. Identifies untapped sales opportunities by profiling, predicting and explaining sales and consumer behavior. Strategically recommends contests and incentives (C&I) to enhance vehicle and commercial sales while providing the greatest level of profitability. Leads the analysis, development and execution of the Regional Marketing Program (RMP) and Regional Digital Operations to maximize vehicle sales and profitability objectives within assigned region. Continually evaluates sales, profiled customer demand, margins and inventory levels to effectively direct media and promotional resources to prioritized markets.
A Day in the Life:
- Identifies cause and effect relationships between marketing actions and financial and sales volume outcomes. Works with Regional Vehicle Operations Manager to evaluate sales progress and impact, as well as identify markets where most effective future use of resources will result. Oversees the development and maintenance of media plans with outside advertising agencies to drive vehicle sales volume in dealerships. Discusses adjustments to marketing communications programs in consideration of constantly changing inventory mix and volume, car-flow, customer preferences, economic conditions, weather, manufacturing constraints, media costs, national initiatives, etc.
- Maintains regional knowledge of competitor's marketing strategies and resource utilization to maintain and respond to competitor's challenges. Track competitor's advertisement, public relations and internet messaging. Provide routine reports that analyze customers and competition. Develops print and internet communications to resolves administrative questions regarding eligibility and compliance with program rules and regulations. Ensures media complies with the standards and expectations established. Approves expenditures. Resolves performance issues with agencies regarding their execution. Ensures recapture of dollars from unexecuted advertising. Evaluates the effectiveness of campaigns and incorporates findings into future initiatives.
- Contests & Incentives: Go to Market Strategy
- Maximizes use of C&I and other tactical dollars through coordination with other regional managers to influence car flow and car mix to increase sales and profitability. Works with Regional Vehicle Ops Manager to evaluate the use of regional contests and incentives dollars to achieve the optimum day's supply and maximize profitability objectives. Coordinates programs with national efforts to maximize resources and prevent duplication.
- Supports national C&I department campaigns and offerings to ensure accurate understanding of rules and eligibility. Works with NMAC on the creation and launch communications of retail and wholesale financing promotions to drive regional results.
- Maintains close coordination with national CMM and Market Intelligence departments to investigate national study findings at the regional and local levels to better define observations and explain sales results. Proposes corrective actions and messaging needed to capture sales in currently and newly identified markets. Proposes action plans and evaluates their success upon adoption.
- Studies existing research and information to analyze regional competition, understand consumer needs, determine brand perceptions and evaluate market penetration by utilizing syndicated data: Gfk, media info, SV, JDPA.
- Monitor and administer RMP budgets, along with the Regional Sales & Marketing Manager.
- Segments markets and targets potential customers demand to profile and correlate actions with results. Identifies and defines new market segments understanding their behavior and product desires to better formulate marketing strategy to capture sales. Consider age, gender, ethnicity and other factors that may correlate with behaviors and perceptions. Incorporate findings into advertising, promotions and other marketing avenues.
- Digital Operations:
- Work with National team to identify opportunities for Dealer Digital Health Assessments.
- Meet quarterly with national and consulting teams to align regional strategy with national consulting goals and review performance results.
- Develop communication plan with Program Manager for low performing NABR dealers (Level 2 / E-NC).
- Partner with DMC team to determine dealer consulting segmentation.
- Coordination with National team on educational opportunities for Region / Dealer personnel (Regional summits, etc.)
- Manages lifestyle events/auto shows and activations, including coordination with external partners, logistics planning, and budgeting.
- People Leadership Responsibilities:
Develops and manages assigned regional analyst and/or contract staff. Interviews and assesses employees. Builds required skills and competencies of staff for current and potential rotational assignments through challenging work assignment and formal training opportunities. Review and evaluate work and coach employees to improve performance. Document progress and communicate in honest, fair and effective manner.
Who We're Looking for:
Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus at least a total of six or more years of progressive professional level experience in marketing and sales within a large corporation. In-depth understanding of contests and incentives and other marketing promotional techniques within a regional or corporate environment is required. Previous experience within CMM, Market Research and Market Intelligence fields within the automotive industry preferred. Previous experience analyzing economic data to support business needs a plus.
Previous experience supervising others and previous experience in a sales capacity is desirable.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to identify, assemble and evaluate key market information using multiple market databases, subscriptions, and vendor sources including mTab, Polk Insight, PIN explorer, and TNS/Kantar Ad Strategy.
Ability to plan and Ability to develop and implement advertising and marketing plans for model line or region.
In-depth understanding of lead management and other digital operations consulting techniques within a regional or corporate environment is required.
Ability to communicate ideas, analysis and recommendations in a simple, accurate and effective manner in writing and verbally. Ability to present ideas and analysis in an effective manner.
Computer Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for spreadsheets, presentations and word processing and ability to mold data into finished presentations. Prefer experience with statistical data analysis and software.
Financial Operating Statements:
Proven ability to read and understand financial statements and other key operating reports and apply to strategies to improve sales.
Leadership Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to prioritize own schedules and organize work projects effectively with minimal daily supervision. Solicits and incorporates work of others for final recommendations.

Salary Range:
$87,978.00 - $172,830.00
