Join our Wine team as a
temp-to-perm Media Specialist across a major wine portfolio client in our New York office (hybrid schedule of two days a week in office) or as a remote employee residing in Texas or Florida! Responsibilities
- Media Relations Mastery: Leads by example in securing earned media, focusing on marquee feature stories in top national outlets and emerging media platforms.
- Build Lasting Relationships: Cultivates genuine relationships with journalists and media members, fostering trust and mutual respect.
- Shape Media Campaigns Together: Participates in brainstorming sessions to help plan and execute media campaigns.
- Team Mentorship & Development: Supports the growth and advancement of junior staff in their media relations skills via development of their pitch writing, and media lists/targets.
Qualifications
- Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in public relations and media relations
- Passion & Industry Knowledge: Genuine enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge of the Wine, Food & Beverage, Lifestyle and Entertainment industries with a proven track record of delivering impactful stories across diverse media, with a strong focus on experience with wine clients and media.
- Media Landscape Mastery: Has a comprehensive understanding of the media landscape, including print, online, broadcast and new-media (i.e. podcast) channels, enabling effective media outreach and engagement to secure great results
- Possesses Strong Relationships: Has genuine relationships with top media outlets and key freelance writers, and looking to build their network further
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills online and in-person
- Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Embodies the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion; demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency, and the ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic workplace, showcasing adaptability and resilience and ready to grow themselves and help the team grow as well
The overall annual budget for this role is $70,000 annually, but we are open to working with candidates that can offer part-time availability (a minimum of 25 hours per week with regular planned availability Monday-Friday) and work at an hourly rate.
