PART-TIME MULTIMEDIA COORDINATOR
San Diego FC (San Diego FC) is the newest member of the MLS family. As part of the unique Right to Dream model and the Sycuan Tribe’s deep roots, we are proud to be building a San Diego-centric soccer organization that honors our history and celebrates emerging excellence.
POSITON:
The Part-Time Multimedia Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the marketing and communications team by producing high-quality multimedia content across multiple platforms. You’ll wear many hats—creating social media content, editing videos, producing graphics, and helping with various creative projects that bring the San Diego FC brand to life. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to flex their creative muscles in a fast-paced, sports-driven environment.
You should be a jack-of-all-trades in the digital media world—comfortable working with video editing software, social media platforms, graphic design tools, and other multimedia production tools. Most importantly, you should have a passion for creating engaging content that resonates with fans and elevates the San Diego FC brand.
This is a part-time role, working mostly on-site up to 25 hours per week. Part-time staff are eligible for sick-time and to participate in the 401(k) plan with a 100% matching contribution up to 4%.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates can meet the requirements with a combination of experience in the following areas.
- Passion for Social Media: You live and breathe social media, staying ahead of trends and understanding what makes content resonate with different audiences.
- Content Capture Skills: You are great at using your phone to capture high-quality, engaging content. From Instagram Stories to TikTok videos, you know how to turn everyday moments into shareable content.
- Creative Ideas & Thinking: You’re a natural idea generator, constantly coming up with fresh, innovative ways to engage the fanbase. You think outside the box and bring new ideas to the table—whether it’s a fan challenge, behind-the-scenes footage, or a creative new hashtag.
- Social Media Savvy: You have a strong understanding of multiple social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) and know how to use each one to its fullest potential.
- Eagerness to Learn: You are excited to develop your skills, grow in the field of social media marketing, and take on new challenges. You’re adaptable, resourceful, and motivated to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Communication Skills: You communicate effectively, whether it’s through captions, messaging, or working within a team. You know how to engage fans and be the voice of the club online.
- Attention to Detail: You take pride in ensuring content is on-brand, high-quality, and free from errors. You understand the importance of consistency in tone and style across social media platforms.
- Flexible & Fast-Paced: You thrive in a fast-moving environment, and you're comfortable adjusting on the fly—whether it's a game-winning moment or a spontaneous content opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Social Media Platforms: 1-2 years of experience working with social media in a professional or academic setting (internships, personal projects, or professional roles).
- Familiarity with Content Creation Tools: Experience with Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and other platforms, as well as basic knowledge of tools like Slate, Adobe Suite, or other content editing apps.
- Interest in Soccer or Sports: A passion for soccer and an understanding of fan culture is a plus.
- Video Editing Skills: Experience with basic video editing is a plus (e.g., creating TikToks, Reels, etc.)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Video Editing & Production: Capture and edit short-form videos for social media, match highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, player features, and other promotional content. You will be responsible for ensuring that all video content is high-quality, visually appealing, and on-brand.
- Social Media Content Creation: Create engaging and timely social media content (graphics, videos, animations) for platforms like Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, and more. Ensure content is shareable, attention-grabbing, and aligned with San Diego FC’s voice and brand.
- Graphic Design & Visual Assets: Design and edit graphics for social media posts, matchday promotions, event advertisements, digital newsletters, and other marketing materials. You’ll use tools like Photoshop, Canva, and other design programs to create visuals that stand out.
- Content Scheduling & Coordination: Assist with the organization and scheduling of content for social media platforms. Help manage the content calendar and ensure that all posts are delivered on time and with the appropriate messaging.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with the marketing, social media, and creative teams to execute campaigns and special projects. Support the creation of multimedia assets for sponsorships, merchandise, and other partnership initiatives.
- Assist with Live Event Coverage: Help capture and edit real-time content during matchdays, events, and behind-the-scenes moments. This could include creating quick edits for Instagram Stories, matchday highlights, or post-game content.
- Innovative Content Solutions: Stay on top of emerging trends in digital media and propose new ways to engage fans. Experiment with new formats, interactive content, and creative techniques to ensure San Diego FC’s social media presence is fresh and engaging.
- Miscellaneous Projects: Assist with various other digital media tasks as needed, such as preparing assets for digital advertising, helping with website content updates, and supporting larger media campaigns.
