Position Summary
Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a
Manager, Partner Marketing to be a key driver of Sony Audio’s partnership ecosystem, blending strategic creativity with sharp business insight. You will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives that not only amplify our brand’s presence but also drive business growth through smart, well-negotiated partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and business, with a keen eye for contract details, budget management, and legal considerations, and who is also passionate about crafting compelling stories, and driving events and experiences that resonate across cultures and channels.
Key focuses for this individual will be driving integrated marketing activity for the team and/or with partners (particularly events, as well as go-to-market launches and the creative planning leading up); communications management (working with external agency partner to manage comms strategies) as well as support on business activities for partner marketing activities (across both product planning and BU facilitation).
A particular focus for this role will entail artist/talent relations management, driving day-to-day activities with Sony Audio’s talent partners on holistic integrated campaigns. This role also requires stakeholder management and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders cross-functionally on complex creative and business activities.
This is a hybrid role based in either our Culver City, CA or New York City office, requiring 2-3 days per week onsite.
Job Responsibilities
Co-Marketing Partnership Leadership / Artist-Talent Partnership Management:
- Lead the identification, negotiation, and management of high-impact partnerships with top-tier brands, talent, and platform partners that align with Sony Audio’s marketing and business objectives.
- Develop and execute co-marketing strategies that leverage these partnerships to enhance brand visibility, drive consumer engagement, and deliver measurable business results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, global marketing, sales, and legal teams to ensure that partnership initiatives are seamlessly integrated and aligned with business goals.
Creative Strategy:
- Working specifically with partners, contribute to the development of bold, innovative creative strategies that elevate the Sony Audio brand and products, and resonate with global audiences, while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee elements creative execution of campaigns, ensuring that all elements align with strategic objectives and are delivered within budget and on schedule.
Partner Selection, Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Lead selection/proposal process and negotiations for all partnership agreements, following internal processes and ensuring favorable terms that drive value for Sony while maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
- Work closely with legal teams to draft, review, and finalize contracts, ensuring all agreements meet regulatory and company standards.
- Manage the budget for partnership marketing initiatives, ensuring cost-effective execution without compromising on quality or impact.
Campaign Planning and Execution:
- Design and lead multi-channel marketing campaigns that are both strategically sound and creatively groundbreaking, generating buzz and excitement for Sony Audio products.
- Oversee creative process end to end ensuring strategy and budgets remain intact from brief to execution.
- Play a key role in driving day-to-day PR/communications strategy with third party firm and internal stakeholders.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with maximum impact.
- Deliver timely reporting on KPIs to partners, leaders and stakeholders and continuously optimize future activity based on learnings.
Activations and Experiential Marketing:
- Co-develop and execute innovative activations and experiential marketing strategies to promote Sony Audio products in collaboration with key partners.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of in-person and virtual experiences, including events, pop-ups, product demos, and more, ensuring they align with brand messaging and goals.
- Work closely with creative teams to develop engaging, immersive experiences that resonate with target audiences and drive brand awareness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PR, marcom, and sales, to maximize the impact of activations and experiential campaigns.
- Track and analyze the performance of activations, using insights to optimize future events and strategies.
Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of marketing professionals from different regions and business units, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking.
- Act as a key liaison between Sony Audio and external partners, ensuring alignment on goals, messaging, and execution across all initiatives.
- Work in close partnership with global teams, especially SNA, Tokyo marcomm and product planning, to ensure consistency and cohesion in brand messaging and partner initiatives across all markets.
Stakeholder and Budget Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external partners, including talent, creative agencies, and media platforms, to maximize the impact of our marketing efforts.
- Oversee budget allocation and financial planning for all partnership marketing activities, ensuring cost efficiency and maximizing ROI.
- Represent Sony Audio at industry events and in key discussions, enhancing our visibility and influence within the creative and entertainment sectors.

Qualifications For Position
Your qualifications and experience should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in partner marketing, business development, creative strategy, creative marketing or related roles, with a strong track record of developing and executing successful partnerships and marketing campaigns.
- Talent/Artist relationship management experience is required and essential, preferable with high-profile music industry artists and teams.
- Deep expertise in the music, entertainment, and technology industries, with a strong network and an ability to build meaningful connections.
- Exceptional creative and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate visionary ideas into actionable, results-driven plans.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experience working closely with legal teams to finalize complex agreements.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize resources to deliver high-impact marketing campaigns.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing direct reports or cross-functional groups in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.
- Passion for audio technology, music, and the role of storytelling in shaping culture.
- Ability to travel as required (up to 30% of the time).

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $125,000 to $135,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
