**This is a remote position - the successful candidate can be located anywhere within the United States. Core business hours are 9am-5pmEST. If located in a different time zone, a scheduled overlap of working hours will be discussed**
Position Overview:
Surgical Safety Technologies is seeking an innovative and strategic content marketing leader to drive its content and thought leadership initiatives. The Director, Content Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to create compelling, SEO-optimized content across various formats and addresses each phase of the customer journey. This role will collaborate with subject matter experts, cross-functional teams, and the Director, Digital Marketing to position SST as a leading authority in surgical safety technology.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Accountable for establishing SST’s brand awareness in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with internal marketing, sales, and product management teams to ensure the brand and messaging resonates with target buyer personas.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, data-driven content marketing strategy that aligns with SST's business objectives and target audience needs, leveraging AI tools for content creation, optimization, and analysis.
- Collaborate with the Director, Digital Marketing to develop and implement comprehensive on-page optimization strategies, including keyword research, title tag optimization, meta description optimization, and content optimization.
- Collaborate with the web development team to implement technical SEO recommendations, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors, as needed, on SEO strategy and ongoing optimization.
- Lead the ideation, creation, and distribution of high-quality, compelling content assets, including white papers, case studies, e-books, brochures, guides, blog posts, videos, social posts, email copy, and other multimedia formats, optimized for search engines and social media platforms.
- Create short- and long-form content to power campaigns that attract and nurture qualified buyers.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to produce thought leadership content that showcases SST's expertise in surgical safety technology and AI solutions.
- Establish a sustainable, strategic approach to PR based on adding value to media outlets, journalists, and national organizations.
- Develop relevant messaging and produce press releases, case studies, and articles that promote SST’s customers.
- Collaborate with customer success and product management to support the creation of content that drives retention and expansion including messaging, blogs, sample policies, and other materials as needed.
- Develop content to pitch SST for earned media placements and awards.
- Support product management to educate both internal and external stakeholders about product features and their benefits, as needed.
- Leverage AI-powered analytics and insights to measure content performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and continuously refine content strategies to maximize engagement and lead generation.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in content marketing, including AI-driven content creation, natural language processing, and machine learning applications.
- Ensure consistent quality, brand voice, and adherence to content marketing guidelines and processes.

- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling, engaging, and SEO-friendly content across various formats.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to interpret and leverage data insights to inform content strategy and optimization efforts.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices, keyword research, and on-page optimization techniques, including the use of AI-powered SEO tools.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in content marketing or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies.
- Experience working with AI technologies in content creation, optimization, and analysis is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of the role of SEO in demand generation success including SEO software tools (e.g., ahrefs) and Google Analytics.
- Excellent proficiency in content management systems and marketing automation platforms.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for industry events, conferences, and team meetings.
