Job Description: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Email Marketing Manager to join Dance Media. This role will work collaboratively with Dance Media’s commercial and editorial teams and will be responsible for bi-weekly newsletters (for Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit, and Pointe); bi-weekly member emails (for DT+ and PT+); on-demand customer emails (dedicated emails); and in-house promotional emails (house ads, dedicated emails). The ideal candidate will be a highly strategic thinker who is also excited to execute campaigns that attract new customers and retain current customers. This is a full-time (9am-5pm EST) role.
Key Responsibilities
Email Campaign Management
-Develop, implement, and optimize email marketing strategies to increase engagement and drive conversions.
-Manage an email calendar that includes multiple emails from various sources each week, ensuring timely and organized delivery.
-Oversee the construction and approval process for emails, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary content and approvals.
-Oversee Client/Advertising Emails
-Manage sponsored email campaigns, working closely with advertisers to ensure their messages are effectively communicated to our audience.
-Coordinate with clients to gather necessary content and approval for advertising emails.
Create and Schedule E-Newsletters
-Work with editors in creating compelling copy for email newsletters, adhering to best practices for email marketing.
-Curate content from various sources, including articles, videos, and promotions, to include in email newsletters.
-Create Promotional Emails
-Design and write promotional emails to support marketing initiatives, events, and subscription campaigns.
-Collaborate with the larger team to align email promotions with overall marketing strategy.
List Management, Audience Segmentation and Personalization
-Manage an email list of 100K emails.
-Utilize audience segmentation techniques to tailor email content to specific groups within our subscriber base.
-Implement personalization tactics to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of email communications.
-Grow audience lists and first-party data collection to enhance the targeting of messages
-Create, optimize, and evolve retention strategies to retain, grow and strengthen the program’s customer base.
Performance Analysis and Reporting
-Monitor and analyze email campaign performance metrics, such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
-Manage segmentation strategy and in partnership with the analytics team develop smart attribution modeling ensuring we reach the right audience with the right message, at the right place and time.
-Provide regular reports on email marketing performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Compliance and Best Practices
-Ensure all email communications comply with relevant regulations and best practices, including GDPR and CAN-SPAM.
-Stay up-to-date with industry trends and email marketing best practices to continually enhance our email strategy.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
-Proven experience in email marketing, preferably within a media or publishing environment, knowledge of email marketing regulations and best practices.
-Experience with audience segmentation and personalization techniques.
-Robust A/B and multivariate testing and optimization experience
-Proficient in analyzing data and generating actionable insights.
-Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
-Knowledge of dance and familiarity with the dance industry
Skills
-Strong understanding of email marketing platforms (Mailchimp is a plus)
-Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple campaigns.
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email template customization is a plus.
-Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
