About this role: The
Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for managing conception, development and implementation of the organization’s marketing strategy to drive growth and brand awareness of the business. This role requires a creative and analytical mindset, along with strong leadership skills to manage a team, collaborate with cross-functional departments and provide effective communications to key internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for a
Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications that will support one of the following programs:
- INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models.
- 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO, MEO and lunar applications.
- Perimeter Truss Reflectors: Tendeg has multiple contracts to deliver large aperture antennas for GEO communications, SAR, and national security.
What You'll Do
- Create and develop business marketing strategies with input from internal/external stakeholders and a focus on organizational growth and brand awareness.
- Implement marketing initiatives including the launch, generation of promotional media, online engagement and outbound communication to organizational stakeholders.
- Manage and evolve established marketing initiatives based on feedback, metric performance and the developing needs of the organization.
- Establish an external communications strategy including press releases, website development, and social media presence, among others.
- Facilitate and evolve the internal communications strategy with the senior leadership team.
- Manage the organization’s branding including creative development and style guidelines, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all platforms.
- Attend and manage the organization’s presence at conferences and trade shows. This includes developing engaging displays, facilitating meetings with stakeholders and developing post-event reports.
- Operationally manage the organization’s social media presence, this includes developing a regular cadence for social media postings and alignment to organizational values and initiatives.
- Prepare and manage the marketing and communications budget on a regular cadence.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Key Job Requirements
- BS degree in Marketing or related field
- 10+ years of marketing experience; space industry experience is preferred but not required
- Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn
- Experience supporting cross functional marketing efforts
- Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
- Deadline oriented & autonomous - proven success meeting internal & external deadlines, often with conflicting priorities; very self-motivated with a strong ability to manage one's own time well
- Interpersonal skills - proactive, clear, transparent communicator with the ability to work well cross-functionally
- Experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
- Proven ability to plan and manage budgets
