Position Summary:
The Manager of Influencer and Communications will oversee a winning earned media strategy to drive best-in-class programs for new product launches, key selling moments, build strategies, and evergreen seeding programs. Have strong relationships with press, MUAs and influencers and have an innovative mindset. Own earned media relationships and events with the help of agency partners. Work to develop strong media pitches, brand events, activations, and build MUA/Mario-relations. This role will focus on press, influencer, brand events, and media pitches and work very closely with the Global Marketing team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationship with external PR agencies (US and Global). Own weekly/bi-weekly PR meetings with PR agencies
- Define and execute Influencer and MUA strategy
- In partnership with Global Marketing and with PR agencies develop cohesive, buzz-driving strategy that leads to increased earned media and EMV for the brand
- Event and experiential activation ownership (with Global Marketing guidance) inclusive of planning and execution (e.g., guest experience, event layout, agency and vendor management, entertainment bookings, décor and scenic, asset creation, catering, permitting and logistics, contract negotiations); production schedules and timelines; budget ownership; and post event ROI reporting
- Develop and oversee the evergreen seeding and launch seeding strategies with Global Marketing
- Ideate around impactful press and influencer programming to support strategic launches
- Complete press interviews in partnership with PR Agencies, Global Marketing and Mario
- Consistently manage press and influencer outreach list and identify opportunities to cultivate relationships that have strong brand affinity and alignment
- Ideate and evaluate opportunities for partnerships to grow brand awareness and reach
- Develop and input Go-To-Market slides and strategies
- Responsible for reporting and gathering key KPIs of Editorial, Influencer and MUA performance (in partnership with PR teams) to measure against benchmarks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of earned media strategies and initiatives
- Drive regional media events strategy for local activations to coincide with local retail events aligned to the North America cultural calendar and Global Marketing calendar to deliver engaging experiences
- Oversee monthly budget for PR and Influencer, handle invoicing and approvals
- Report to the Vice President of Global Marketing
International:
- Own and foster international PR agency relationships
- Provide digestible monthly reporting and analysis from international PR teams
- Own the Press seeding process with agencies, sending, facilitating, recommending seeding opportunities
- Work with Mario’s EA/PA on appearances abroad in-stores/events
- Handle and coordinate OUS interviews with agencies
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ in brand engagement and public relations and influencer management
- Beauty, Color Cosmetics is required
- Strong Beauty Press relationships
- Proficiency in Tribe Dynamics a plus
- Strong understanding of industry trends and best practices, specifically strategies on how to build winning EMV
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated, results and solution oriented, strategic thinker
- Ability to accommodate early morning or night calls with international markets (3-5 hours/month)
- Potential travel to markets (3-5 times/year) domestically and internationally
- Strong PowerPoint skills; proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel; can work on MAC
