JOB TITLE: Director, Education & Events
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, Global Sales

OVERVIEW
The Director of Education & Events is responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of impactful product education and event content for Summer Fridays in close partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Product Development. Additionally, this role is responsible for working with all retailers on internal programs to deliver continued education and training to engage the field and BA community, while positively impacting the online and offline customer experience and optimizing sell-through.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Education and Event Program Development
- Design training programs and tools to support core products and new product launches to drive key business objectives, marketing initiatives and strategic business needs.
- Create retailer event strategies and tools to drive brand awareness, excitement and engagement in store driving our core strategy and new product launches
- Oversee education strategy for product launches.
- Create templates for all training materials to ensure clear understanding, retention, and consistency,
- Ensure all brand training material is created and communicated in a current, updated format, using brand and channel-specific language.
- Design training tools in collaboration with Marketing/Creative team; source vendors, obtain quotes and follow through to completion.
- In collaboration with Sales, Product Development and Marketing teams, develop a plan for all video content and manage the process to create updated video content to meet retailer and internal needs.
- Manage field and retailer gratis programs in partnership with Sales.
- Participate in key retailer meetings to ensure a proactive Education plan is created to support retail calendar.
Internal Team Development
- Oversee education communication to Summer Fridays field sales, customer service and internal teams.
- Develop specific education materials for field team to support retailer objectives and strategies.
- Train Summer Fridays field team on product knowledge, skincare techniques and selling behaviors, functioning as a resource and leader, providing product and sales expertise.
Administration
- Provide feedback to SVP, Global Sales on budget needs and any spending or cost saving opportunities.
- Ensure all education formats are designed and communicated in brand voice and channel specific language.
- Review all retailer education feedback and assist in action plan development.
- Interface with key retailers on their specific education guidelines.
- Execute creative briefs for all education materials and programs.
- Track and evaluate performance of education investments including tools/materials, gratis, and other education costs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 8 years’ experience creating education content in the beauty category, with a focus on skincare.
- Demonstrated multi-door, multi-market education and sales experience in prestige cosmetics.
- In-depth understanding of beauty products and ingredients.
- Exceptional education, training and selling skills.
- Solid understanding of education and in-store practices within beauty retailers, particularly Sephora North America.
- Strong collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively with key internal and external cross-functional partners.
- Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and public speaking skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Solid knowledge of MS Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Keynote and Adobe Suite.
- Can-do, positive attitude and passion for beauty.
- Highly motivated with the ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Must be based in Los Angeles.
