Job Description - Social Media Manager
Carla Rockmore seeks a creative, innovative, and data-driven Social Media Manager to accelerate growth across all social channels, strengthen the brand’s impact, and positively impact the business. This social media manager will be tasked with significantly scaling our social following, boosting engagement, and expanding our digital presence.
As the Social Media Manager, you will oversee all organic social media efforts, with a strong focus on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, while also having the opportunity to explore new platforms like Pinterest. In addition, you will manage and execute paid partnerships and collaborations, strategically balancing paid and organic content to elevate brand equity.
This role reports directly to the VP of Social Media & Operations and plays a key part in shaping the future of the Carla Rockmore brand.
Primary Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Lead and execute an always-on social media strategy for Carla Rockmore's channels, focusing on data-driven growth tactics for Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Manage monthly content streams, to be aligned with growth and engagement goals.
- Track and aggregate community and influencer UGC, surfacing relevant content for use across multiple streams and reposting on owned channels.
- Use social listening insights to create thoughtful, consistent content and provide feedback to the team.
- Liaise with Carla’s content support providers (graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and editors) to ensure timely and on-budget content delivery.
Planning & Collaboration
- Manage all content planning, including bi-weekly trend identification and growth opportunities.
- Oversee content calendar, scheduling organic posts, brand collaborations, and e-commerce Go-To-Market campaigns with an 8-week advance plan.
- Plan and execute all brand collaborations in coordination with outside agencies and relevant partners.
- Collaborate with the e-commerce team on “surprise & delight” activities, including giveaways and activations.
Content Execution & Team Oversight
- Execute all social content, including scheduling and posting, while coordinating engagement tactics across all channels.
- Manage team members responsible for social support functions like engagement, editing, and other operational tasks.
- Ensure coverage across all days and times for social posting and engagement.
- The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of social media content editing, with the experience and keen eye needed to quickly grasp the brand’s voice, style, and cadence. They will effectively communicate these insights to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, on-brand content.
Metrics & Reporting
- Provide comprehensive monthly reporting, using data to adjust strategies and tactics.
- Deliver measurable metrics to track growth and community engagement, supporting Carla Rockmore social presence and brand objectives.
Event & Travel Support
- Support Carla during major events and PR initiatives (e.g., Fashion Week, TV appearances) by creating itineraries, ideating content, scheduling, and posting in a timely manner.
- Be available for flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Sales & Growth Objectives
- Develop and implement strategies to grow Carla Rockmore's Email / SMS list to support sales goals.
- Strengthen and grow Carla Rockmore’s social community, supporting her focus on content creation, product design, and brand amplification.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing social media marketing content and strategy.
- Proficient with social operational tools such as content management, publishing, listening, and community management platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of all social media platforms, with expertise in leveraging them effectively according to industry best practices.
- Proven ability to translate ideas into strategic initiatives and execute them seamlessly.
- Demonstrated success in growing social media follower counts across platforms.
- Skilled at managing and prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities to track, measure, and optimize performance.
- A compelling storyteller, able to distill complex content into engaging, bite-sized social media captions and visuals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines consistently.
- Passion for start-ups, e-commerce, and thriving in a high-growth environment is essential.
- Passion and enthusiasm for fashion and design are a plus.
