The Opportunity
The role of the Media and Marketing Specialist is to produce effective and engaging social media content and marketing materials. This position is an important contributor to growing awareness of AlohaCare’s brand as a nonprofit safety net health plan that provides comprehensive health coverage, makes significant investments in the communities we serve, and supports our members with caring staff. As the primary coordinator of AlohaCare’s social media accounts and creator of content, this position is key to meeting the External Affairs Department’s strategic goals.
Primary Duties, Responsibilities And Competencies
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with external and internal partners to meet organizational goals
- Contribute to continuous improvement of deliverables and processes
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills ensuring internal and external relations are conducted with a pleasant and friendly attitude and responds in a timely manner
- Assist with strategy implementation, coordination, and planning for all External Affairs functions
Strategy and Project Management
- Contributes to the development and implementation of media and marketing strategies
- Stays updated on trends to ensure AlohaCare incorporates best practices.
- Serves as a liaison between the External Affairs and AlohaCare departments working in collaboration with teams to facilitate timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborates with leadership to plan, direct and implement marketing strategies in support of key projects and initiatives.
- Supports membership growth and retention by increasing AlohaCare’s brand awareness in the community.

Social Media
- Develops and executes social strategies including development of engaging content, research, audience identification and internal and external collaboration.
- Creates and implements a schedule of quality content tailored for multiple social media platforms consistent with organizational priorities and opportunities.
- Generate engaging multimedia content, including videos, graphics, articles, infographics, captions and scripts tailored to resonate with diverse audiences that promote AlohaCare’s value as a local safety net health plan.
- Ensures content accuracy, relevance, and timely delivery across various digital media platforms.
- Actively oversees and maintain AlohaCare’s social media profiles, fostering continuous interaction, and responsiveness with audiences.
- Employs tailored engagement tactics such as contests, polls, live sessions, and community-driven initiatives to enhance audience participation and retention.
- Conducts regular analysis of social media metrics, audience behavior, and campaign performance to derive actionable insights.
- Safeguards the integrity and credibility of AlohaCare’s online presence.
- Foster collaborative relationships across departments to maintain consistent branding and messaging throughout all digital platforms.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in digital communication to continually optimize strategies.
Marketing
- Plan and execute timely, relevant and engaging marketing campaigns, activities and communications including but not limited to member materials, digital media, photos, video, email, social media, printed collateral, articles, emails and presentations.
- Conducts market research, planning and evaluation.
- Coordinates with internal and external resources to ensure content is aligned with marketing objectives.
Reporting and Analytics
- Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of current marketing and communication strategies, content, framework and tools.
- Develop performance analytic dashboards, campaign success metrics, including return on investment.
- Analyze campaigns and make recommendations for increasing effectiveness.
- Responsible to maintain AlohaCare’s confidential information in accordance with AlohaCare policies, and state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding confidentiality. Employees have access to AlohaCare data based on the data classification assigned to this job title.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related work experience
- Understanding of social media and marketing metrics; able to interpret results and take action to increase effectiveness
- Strong and effective verbal and written communicator.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance with a reliable, 4-wheel, safety- inspected vehicle.
- Intermediate skill using Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
- Must be self-motivated, efficient, detail oriented, have excellent organization and time management skills

Mental, Physical And Environmental Demands
- Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Salary Range: $62,000 - $83,000 annually
