Position Overview
The Chief Creative Officer (CCO) is a key executive leader responsible for driving the creative vision and innovation. The CCO oversees the design, production, and client relations divisions, ensuring that all creative outputs align with the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals. This role requires a blend of visionary leadership, creative expertise, and strong collaboration skills to deliver exceptional client experiences and high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership
- Develop and execute the organizations overarching creative strategy, ensuring alignment with Hawaii Stages mission and goals.
- Inspire and lead creative teams across design, production, and client relations to deliver innovative and culturally relevant solutions.
- Maintain and enhance company?s reputation as a leader in custom event production and creative services.
Design & Production Oversight
- Oversee the Design & Production Division, including CAD design, custom fabrication, exhibit builds, graphics, and drapery.
- Ensure creative consistency and quality across all visual and technical elements of productions.
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to integrate creative vision into logistical execution.
Client & Community Relations
- Lead the Client & Community Relations Division, fostering strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners.
- Ensure client needs are met through tailored creative solutions and exceptional service delivery.
- Promote the integration of local vendors and cultural elements into productions.
Strategic Innovation
- Identify emerging trends and technologies in the creative and event production industries, incorporating them into our offerings.
- Champion innovation and creativity to drive business growth and enhance client satisfaction.
- Develop initiatives to integrate sustainability and regenerative practices into creative outputs.
Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing creative team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Establish processes and workflows to enhance team efficiency and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Provide clear direction and feedback to ensure the successful delivery of creative projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Creative Arts, Design, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in creative leadership, event production, or a related field.
- Proven track record of overseeing large-scale creative projects and managing diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of design principles, production processes, and technical aspects of event production (e.g., lighting, AV, custom builds).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with local communities and vendors, with an appreciation for Hawaiis culture and values preferred.
