About the Role
The Director of Customer Marketing is a sales and marketing hybrid role, responsible for developing our customer portfolio by executing strategies that identify and respond to market opportunities while gaining organizational alignment to drive clear and actionable results. As a key member of the marketing team, you will take the lead in identifying customer and market needs, aligning our solutions to meet those needs. You’ll accomplish this through an integrated approach leveraging consumer insights, market data, bringing forward our strongest technology and value propositions, and supporting it with concepts and ideas that spark engagement with customers.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing and plays a high-profile, customer-facing role in the organization, working in conjunction with Sales and R&D to deliver our brand promises, identify growth channels, and grow our Culinary Creations and Proactive Innovation platforms with current and emerging customers.
To be successful, you must be able to bring our product and platform growth strategies to life in front of the customer, activating the brand to drive value and differentiation across the customer journey. You will leverage creative and visual storytelling, disruptive and experiential activations, and dynamic thought leadership to create memorable “moments of truth” with our customers, helping them connect the dots and realize the potential of a Rubix partnership, as one they can grow and win with.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the business planning of the company with key insights into audiences/customers, markets/segments, and products/platforms, to reach a modern, diverse, and cross-functional decision maker.
- Reinforce brand positioning, brand messaging, and voice to grow brand awareness, equity, and authority with our customers and within the broader food industry.
- Craft compelling product marketing strategies and presentations based on deep insights into customers’ and consumers’ needs, motivations, and behaviors.
- Drive successful product and brand campaigns based in deep understanding of customer and consumer needs.
- Build successful demand generation strategies and champion innovative ways to bring Rubix to market that improve ROI of cross-functional resources and marketing dollars.
- Team up with leadership across Sales, Culinary, and Innovation/R&D to deliver on commercial objectives set by executive leadership.
- Collaborate with internal departments and strategic partners to build rich and connected opportunities for commercial growth.
- Monitor current and emerging customer, industry, and competitive activities, keeping sales and marketing leaders abreast of relevant news that could impact opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience: Seven to ten years of experience in a marketing or sales role.
- Education: BA/BS in marketing, communication, business, or similar field.
- Location: Frequent travel to Jacksonville, FL HQ and customer meetings, otherwise open to remote
- Travel: Up to 30% travel may be required, including, but not limited to, customer meetings, conventions, corporate Innovation Center, and manufacturing site visits.
- Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Mac computers.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in analyzing data and insights, reading between the lines, and using those findings to build compelling marketing and sales plans that drive growth.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, in both written and verbal forms, bringing together vision and action.
- Experience managing customer-facing relationships in a marketing, sales or account management capacity.
- Experience with, or understanding of, the many aspects of marketing and how they play a role in amplifying cross-functional strategies.
- Highly proactive, organized, and adaptable leader with shown success leading cross-functional groups, achieving success through collaboration.
- High EQ with an ability to work with many different personality types and positively influence others.
