As a freelance proofreader working with the Wonder Creative Team, you’ll be a guardian of our brand. You’ll set the bar and ensure that all written material that our customers and future customers encounter will be up to the Wonder standard. Your responsibilities will include maintaining brand consistency across a range of communications, keeping our marketing materials accurate and up to date in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment, and identifying mistakes in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and layout with precision.
Responsibilities:
- Editing and proofreading all customer communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Identifying mistakes in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and layout.
- Versioning existing materials with updated restaurants, locations, promotions, and pricing.
- Collaborating with writers, marketers, and graphic designers to develop and refine content.
- Ensuring that all written materials adhere to Wonder’s established style and branding guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Communication/Advertising, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in proofreading, line editing, copy editing, or copywriting.
- Up to 20 hours per week of availability and a willingness to jump in on a project at a moment’s notice.
- Experience working in Microsoft, Figma, Looker, and Monday.com is a plus.
- A nerd-level command of language and grammar. Experience with multiple style guides is a plus. (We use a variation of AP.) Must love the Oxford comma.
- Extremely detail oriented and organized, eagle-eyed focus, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. We move quickly, change on a dime, and wear many hats.
