WE ARE // Pure Salt Interiors is a full-service interior design studio and e-commerce shoppe based in Newport Beach, CA. We create inspired spaces, products, and experiences that encourage people to live deeply in each moment through fresh, functional, family-friendly design. We first opened our doors in 2016, but have since evolved into a national lifestyle brand.
PURPOSE // The role of the Studio Manager is to lead, manage, and drive Showroom Sales and Operations along with new business acquisition for Shoppe Design Clients. This role requires incredible communication skills, consistent performance, and a high regard for Pure Salt’s Core Values. This role will oversee the Visual Merchandising, Onsite Event Development and Management, and function as a Manager to Showroom and Studio Support Team. This role requires a close partnership with the Co-Founders and Marketing Director to develop strategy and fully execute department functions. This role will also oversee shoppe design and studio support team.
OUTLINE // The Studio Manager role is a full-time, managing position. The position’s primary location will be at Pure Salt Showroom, Newport Beach CA, and will report directly to Pure Salt’s Co-Founders/Principal Designers. This role will begin managing and supporting seasonal retail staff, new business acquisition for shoppe design and full-service projects, partner with leadership on events, and oversee the shoppe facility. The compensation range for this position is $60-68k/annually.
DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES //
New Business // Shoppe Design
- Partners with Co-Founders to assess and assign Shoppe Design Client Projects
- Assigns Design/Studio Coordinator to Shoppe Design Projects
- Oversee’s shoppe design projects and to the level of design excellence for PS.
- Maintains an understanding of Job Budget and materials knowledge in partnership with clients
- Has a deep understanding of all Pure Salt products, customization options, and vendor product details. (I.e. Sole Shades, HOM, Pirch, Etc)
Studio Sales and Community Engagement
- Guest Experience & Community
- Lead an exceptional level of customer service on the floor by assessing the level of guest connection and product education
- Oversees and coordinates Design/Studio Coordinator training to build up and maintain knowledge of all Pure Salt Products and services to connect the Showroom to the Design Studio.
- Provide showroom floor leadership to team members, including making in-the-moment decisions to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of showroom coverage and operations.
- Resolve in-store, online, and over-the-phone guest feedback and address emergent issues, including guest escalations and urgent requests, helping to “make it right” for guests.
- Lead and Develop on-site events that align with Pure Salt values and aesthetic, while increasing foot traffic, sales, and brand visibility.
- Leadership & People Management
- Engage team members by helping them understand how their work supports the success of the store and of Pure Salt overall.
- Support HR Manager when applicable in hiring and building a team with various experiences, backgrounds, and skill sets to drive key results and performance.
- Lead performance management activities, including direct feedback and monthly check-ins, facilitating team acknowledgement and rewards, managing performance documentation, and addressing performance concerns.
- Address employee concerns or issues, including knowing when to partner with internal support to take appropriate action.
- Inform people managers of projected team growth needs based on operational trends and results.
Operations & Product Strategy
- Partner with the leadership team to review business data and metrics to inform planning processes
- Maintain strategic product presentation/visual merchandising by ensuring product recovery, restock, destock, or minor visual merchandising changes are accomplished.
- Support sell-through management by ensuring accuracy of inventory counts and coordinating labor hours to efficiently receive product deliveries.
- Open and close the store in accordance with the opening and closing procedures.
- Perform work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws or regulations
- Knowledge Share // Develops and Leads Training/knowledge share as opportunities arise. Takes the time to mentor direct reports and other Studio entry-level employees and interns.

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE //
- Bachelor’s degree, is preferred, but not required
- 2+ years’ experience in Interior Design Industry, bonus with a luxury brand!
- 3+ years’ experience both client/customer facing
- 1+ years’ experience with Design Industry and E-Commerce technology
