Group Vice President
Group Vice President (GVP) is responsible for directing and growing the dialysis business across the Midwest encompassing the Midwest region through effective leadership and management of all aspects of customer service, quality patient care, marketing, and responsible financial management. Additionally, the GVP is responsible for overseeing the management of the clinic operations in the assigned regions and ensures the clinics and home programs meet quality, financial, human resource, and regulatory targets. This role practices cost containment strategies while maintaining profitability and growth and ensuring compliance with applicable company and regulatory requirements. GVP's are required to live in their respective territory.
Essential Functions
- Lead by example through upholding and promoting the mission and core values of the Company.
- Serve as a strategic partner across functions to ensure Company strategy is translated into initiatives that achieve Company objectives.
- Complete all responsibilities of a Regional Vice President (RVP) for an assigned region and additionally provide supervisory oversight for at least one RVP in another region.
- Partner with Medical Directors, regional leadership, and clinic leadership to provide the highest quality patient care by ensuring that patient care targets are met.
- Responsible for driving culture within the group in coordination with the COO and other culture-oriented committees.
- Lead the development of strong relationships with physicians and other health care entities and develop strategies to increase clinic and market growth.
- Responsible and accountable for the financial performance and key objectives of all clinics and programs in the assigned group.
- Conduct and oversee monthly financial and quality performance reviews with partners to identify gaps in performance and create action plans in areas where improvement is needed.
- Understand the local and area dialysis markets; develop local market strategies for increasing clinic growth, home program growth, and identifying other opportunities in the market.
- Provides strategic leadership, fosters a culture of continual improvement, supports employee growth and succession planning, and creates an atmosphere of engagement, congeniality, accountability and respect; oversee performance management, and rewards and recognition systems in the group.
- Regularly meets with Medical Directors to review clinic operations; chairs the clinic’s governing body meetings for primary region.
- Works with regional leadership, clinic leadership, and the technical department to ensure a safe and sanitary physical environment within the clinic; oversees risk management and ensures that the dialysis centers and programs in their group maintain survey readiness.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has overall supervisory responsibility for dialysis clinic and program operations, including direct supervisory responsibility for the RVP(s) and clinic leadership in the assigned group. The Group Vice President is accountable for the performance management, annual increases, employment actions, and budgetary decisions that take place within the group.
Position Type, Expected Hours Of Work & Travel
This is a Full-Time position supporting healthcare facilities which are open based on patient and operational needs. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which may vary for clinical support and business/operational needs. Work during holidays, inclement weather and emergency situations will be required. This position requires travel up to 50% of the time. Frequently, travel is outside the local area and overnight.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business-related field; masters preferred.
- 10+ years of experience managing in the healthcare field required; dialysis experience preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and business acumen.
